The railroad of the Eastern Railroad company, herein called the Eastern Railroad, which is leased to and operated by the carrier, comprises 0.559 mile of first main track, 0.556 mile of second main track, and 0.363 mile of yard tracks and sidings, and is located near Hazelwood Avenue on the north side of the Monongahela River.
- CORPORATE HISTORY
The Eastern Railroad was incorporated February 25, 1901, under the general laws of the State of Pennsylvania, to acquire and operate a railroad in Allegheny County, Pa., to be about 2.5 miles in length and to extend along the north bank of the Monongahela River in the twenty-third ward of the city of Pittsburgh. The date of organization was February 25, 1901.
- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The owned mileage, 1.115 miles, was all acquired by construction, which was begun March 1, 1901, and additions have been made from time to time to date of valuation. Operation was begun in 1902 by the carrier.
