The railroad of The Dodge City and Cimarron Valley Railway Company, hereinafter called the Dodge City and Cimarron Valley Railway, is a single-track line located entirely within the State of Kansas and extending from Dodge City to Elkhart, a distance of 119.403 miles.

Introductory

The Dodge City and Cimarron Valley Railway is a corporation of the State of Kansas, having its principal office at Dodge City, Kans. It is controlled by the Santa Fe through ownership of the entire capital stock. On the other hand, the records reviewed indicate that the company itself does not control any other common-carrier corporation. The property of the Dodge City and Cimarron Valley Railway has always been operated under lease by the Santa Fe.

Corporate History

The Dodge City and Cimarron Valley Railway was incorporated November 17, 1911, under the general laws of the State of Kansas.

Development of Fixed Physical Property

The mileage owned by the Dodge City and Cimarron Valley Railway, amounting to 119.403 miles, was constructed for its account by the Santa Fe during the period from November, 1911, to July 1, 1913.

Leased Railway Property

The entire property of the Dodge City and Cimarron Valley Railway is leased to the Santa Fe for a term of 10 years from July 1, 1913. The terms of the lease are given in the section devoted to leased railway property in the report on the Santa Fe.
