The railroad of the Centralia Eastern Railroad Company, herein called the Centralia Eastern, is a single-track, standard-gauge, steam railroad, located in the western part of Washington. The owned mileage extends in an easterly direction from Wabash to Mendota, a distance of 8.655 miles. The Centralia Eastern also owns and uses 2.122 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 10.777 miles of all tracks.
- CORPORATE HISTORY
The Centralia Eastern was incorporated September 28, 1907, under the general laws of Washington, for the purpose of constructing, maintaining, and operating a railroad running from Centralia in a northeasterly direction a distance of about 15 miles. The date of organization was October 19, 1907.
- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The property of the Centralia Eastern was acquired by construction. Work was begun in February, 1908, and the road placed in operation January 1, 1909. Grading and bridge work was done under contract, the remainder of the work being performed by forces of the company.
