Location and general description of property.—The railroad of the Alabama, Tennessee & Northern Railway, herein called the carrier, is a single-track, standard-gauge, steam railroad, located in southwestern Alabama. The main line extends northerly from Nannahubba to Reform, 184.354 miles. That portion of the line between Nannahubba and Calvert is only used occasionally. The carrier also owns 12.081 miles of yard tracks and sidings.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated under the general laws of the State of Alabama, through filing with the secretary of that State articles of consolidation dated April 12, 1913, effective May 1, 1913, for the purpose of consolidating the property, rights, and franchises of the Tombigbee Valley Railroad Company, the Mobile Terminal & Railway Company, and the Alabama, Tennessee & Northern Railroad Company. The date of organization was April 28, 1913. Pursuant to the purpose stated, the carrier acquired the property, rights, and franchises of the three companies named.
