Corporate history.—The Addison Railroad was incorporated on November 21, 1867, and organized on March 16, 1869, under a special act of the Legislature of the State of Vermont. Its principal office is at Rutland, Vt. Beginning about September, 1870, the carrier supervised and financed the construction of the property, which was built by contract. It was completed and opened for operation from Leicester Junction, Vt., to the State line on December 7, 1870, and from the State line to Fort Ticonderoga, N. Y., in 1873. The Addison Railroad opened its books of account on January 1, 1906. The information herein shown, as relating to the period prior to that date, has been taken from the books of the carrier.
