The railroad of the Aberdeen and Rockfish Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad located in the southern part of North Carolina. The owned main line extends in an easterly direction from Aberdeen to Fayetteville, a distance of 44.480 miles, with a branch line from Raeford southerly to Wagram, a distance of 11.150 miles. The carrier also owns and uses 8.915 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 64.545 miles of all tracks.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated June 22, 1892, under the general laws of the State of North Carolina. The date of its organization was not ascertained.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the carrier, 55.630 miles, was all acquired by construction. The years when the various portions of the line were constructed are indicated in the following statement.
