Wikipedia:WikiProject Rocks and minerals/General

Hello, It has been a long time since I did any Wikipedia editing, so forgive my memory. I was unable to find a general forum, so pardon my presumtion of creating a new page. I am a college instructor looking for a meaningful project for undergraduate students in an online physical geology course. My idea was to have students adopt a mineral stub and add material over the course of the semester, with the hopes of bringing the article up to a C- or B-class level. I hope to try out this project with about 5 willing undergraduate volunteers this semester, with a completion by May. Would this be a problem? Do you think it is doable? I seem to recall hearing about this from a Earth Science Education conference, though I think the project was geared towards high school students, does anyone remember this?
