Proposed Standard on portal format to use in PR Road articles, and related matters[edit]

NOTE: The following is only a Draft of a future a Standard. It is not yet a Standard.

Proposed Standard:
(1) The Road Portal images are to be coded under the "See also" section in the wikitext, as opposed to any other section (such as the "References" section).
(2) For Road Portal images, the Puerto Rico WikiProject will standardize on the use of the roads template in "boxed" format as opposed to using a bulleted list format.

(3) For reading comfort and visually pleasurable effects, it is desirable for the "boxed" road portals images above to always display under the "See also" section under which they are coded in the wiki text. However, because of the way how the MediaWiki software deals with images, when adding the portals to very short articles, it is possible for the road portal images to be displayed separate from "See also" header where they belonged (which was not teh editor's intended result when coding the portals under the "See also" section). In fact, a common result when including portal images in very short articles is for the portal images to be displayed together with, and under, other images already coded in the wikitext (such as the infobox image) while the wikitext of the "See also" section gets displayed together with the rest of the article's wiki text (i.e., the body of the article).

In order to ensure the portal images are displayed together with, and under, the "See also" header under which they were coded by the editor (as stated in Point #1 above), the {{stack}} template should be used when coding portal images in very small articles (for example, PR-549 in this version). The Stack template to be used will be: {{stack|{{portal|Puerto Rico|U.S. Roads}}}}

(4) Due to the nature of Wikipedia as an open platform and, thus, the unlimited number of editors who edit PR road articles, the size of a Wikipedia road article cannot be perennially guaranteed. To reconcile the (a) need for the portal images to appear consistently under the "See also" section with (b) the uncertainty of an article's size, it will be considered a "Best Practice" standard to use the Stack template named in Point #3 above, not just in very small road articles but in all Puerto Rico road articles regardless of size. This way, the portal images will always be displayed under the "See also" section no matter if the article shrinks from large to very small in the future.

(3) To ensure that the portal images are displayed together with, and under, the "See also" header under which they were coded by the editor (as stated in Point #1 above), the {{stack}} template should be used when coding portal images in very small articles (for example, PR-549 in this version). The Stack template to be used will be: {{stack|{{portal|Puerto Rico|U.S. Roads}}}}
(4) To ensure the portal images will always be displayed under the "See also" section regardless of the size of the article, it is be considered a "Best Practice" standard to use the Stack template named in Point #3 above, not just in very small road articles but in all Puerto Rico road articles no matter their size.
