Welcome to the Popular pages project group, an initiative of the Military history WikiProject.

Purpose & scope

[edit]

As of 19th September 2013, the percentage of FAs in the top 500 is 7.6%. The purpose of this project is to focus attention on improving the most popular pages within the scope of the project and raising the view weighted average article quality within the scope of MilHist. Popular pages contains recent information, but it is suggested that a 12 or 24 month average should be used for this competition to achieve the most lasting impact. This project proposes a competition where points are awarded for improving the class of an article, where the score assigned to the editor is # steps increased * views per day. Hopefully this will raise awareness of our readers interests among our editors and could be a regular option on the competition circuit.

Extending this concept, please provide an option for rank ordering of articles by page views when Open tasks are provided. For example, selecting an article to work on from the 12,266 articles that require work on structure would be made much easier by such a ranking.
