Appearance
For a successful and informative article it should be written to a format that is pleasant in appreance and diversive.
System articles
[edit]A main article should include:
- Official map and Logo (use {{fairuse}} if you need to)
- Geographical map (with a possible close up of the centre)
- A detailed history section including:
- Early pre projects
- Good coverage of individual segments
- A section on architecture and station design
- A detailed overview of the operational details with emphasis on
- Rolling Stock
- Ride Conditions
- Admin details
- Finally the article should finish off with a good geographical map explaining future developments, both in the near, and far future.
- At the footer of the article should be a rich collection of external links and references
- Model articles: Kiev Metro, Saint Petersburg Metro
Line articles
[edit]N.B. for systems that exist only as one line this can and should be integrated into the sections above.
- A detailed section on history of the line and its features
- A good geographical map
- A proper template
- Two tables
- One on segment openings
- One on transfers
- Information about the rolling stock
- A good summary about the future plans of the line
- Model articles: Zamoskvoretskaya Line.
Station articles
[edit]This is paragraph level, although if need to each point can be more than one paragraph long
- Introduction about the station, including which line and system it belongs to and date of opening and brief history...if necessary.
- A detailed section about its architecture, design and features
- Information about the station's geographic location and including non-metro transfers and location of exists.
- Transfer information about the station, including details about how the transfer is achieved.
- Technical details of the station
- Future plans (if any)
- External links should be to individual sites' sections about the station and a google maps link centred on the station's location
- Images are strongly recommended to have, however please restrict to no more than six on an article a max of two in thumbnails and four in gallery. Use wikicommons where required.
