Description

Hamari Boli (Our Language) is the new name of Hindi-Urdu, the Lingua Franca of South Asia and Desis worldwide. With dozens of mutually intelligible local varieties, and over 1 Billion 1st and 2nd language speakers, it is the second most spoken language in the world!
A genuine first ever in Applied Linguistics i.e. Wiki-based Open Language Planning, The larger "Hamari Boli Initiative" is a full-scale "Language Planning" Enterprise aimed at 'Hindi-Urdu' Script, Style, Status & Lexical Reform and Modernization.
Problem: Hindi & Urdu are linguistically the same language written in 2 discrepant scripts due to communalization, severely limiting reach & accessibility of written/printed works of otherwise perfectly mutually intelligible language. The crippling Digraphia renders any kind of Opensource collaboration IMPOSSIBLE among Devanagari/Nastaliq readers.
Solution: Hamari Boli (Romanized Hindi-Urdu) resolves the dilemma --see [hif.wikipedia.org Fiji Hindi Wiki]-- by using neutral Roman script to create equally accessible opensource content in Roman Hindi-Urdu, and simultaneously uses the opportunity to create online People-to-People Collaboration platforms for Indo-Pak confidence building, where Hindi & Urdu speakers -all Desis indeed- worldwide are enabled to contribute & cooperate on mutually rewarding opensource endeavors such as Lexical resources (Dictionaries etc), Hamari Boli Wikipedia, Open Text Books, Language Tools, [youtube.com/khanacademyhindiurdu Khan Academy Hamari Boli] etc
The objective of this project is to create a HB.wikipedia.org Hamari Boli Wikipedia, independent of the Hi.wikipedia.org and Ur.wikipedia.org wikis which are totally infested with jingoistic nationalism and linguistic chauvinism
