- Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
- African/Black gerontologists and geriatricians have a very poor coverage on Wikipedia (as seen here Category:Gerontologists and Category:Geriatricians_by_nationality despite being notable. A purposeful effort by editors to look at developing articles based on Africans in this category not only creates a representation and adds up to this open knowledge base. It also encourages a new generation of Africans in/prospecting this discipline. It is not just Africans but African Americans too, as well as Black people in other continents.

[edit]This project's scope is too narrow. It would be better if you started a task force in Wikipedia:WikiProject Longevity or Wikipedia:WikiProject Countering systemic bias.
