Description
[edit]Projects on computer science and related fields exist, but there appears to be no project on software engineering. Software engineering is distinct from computer science because software engineering focuses on the entire development process, including requirements analysis, unit testing, domain engineering, etc., all of which are out of the scope of WP:WPCS. The latter two are currently handled by WP:COMP though in my opinion it is slightly out of their scope.
The WikiProject on Software Engineering would cover all phases of software development processes, including the lifecycles themselves, such as Crystal Clear, and any related tools and technologies software engineers use to maintain quality and management such as hardware-in-the-loop simulation and continuous integration. Discussion
[edit]IT would be nice if there were more Engineering disciplines with WikiProjects... like WP:WikiProject Electrical Engineering , WP:WikiProject Computer Engineering ... with this proposal, there's only WP:WikiProject Civil engineering and the top level WP:WikiProject Engineering. 76.66.193.224 (talk) 05:07, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
