Description

A WikiProject to organize, maintain, and improve the various articles relating to psychedelic music. This includes subgenres like Psychedelic soul and Psybient, bands like the Doors and Animal Collective, and songs like "Incense and Peppermints" and "Time of the Season". Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
There is no specfic project for psychedelic music. With a WP for psychedelia, the articles will have better cover. The above four WPs are too general for working on articles for a specific genre/scene/style.--Ilovetopaint (talk) 01:39, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely a huge and important project. Wiki pages have been lacking on this forever. How do you propose to proceed? I suggest starting with definitions, history, and then dissection of genres. Why not? Because we don't need further profusion of narrowly sub-topical wikiprojects. They almost all die within a few months to a year of being created. "But what about [some other music project here]" – See WP:OTHERSTUFF. The existence of something on WP doesn't mean that everything vaguely comparable to that something must also be created, especially when we've learned that doing so is problematic. PS: Hip-hop isn't a sub-genre of another genre, unlike psychedelia, which is a subgenre of rock, broadly interpreted.  — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ >ʌⱷ҅ᴥⱷʌ<  01:18, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
PS: Total lack of interest for over 10 months is a strong contra-indication for creating such a wikiproject, as is the fact that most of the articles we need about the topic have already been created.
