Description
[edit]The goal of this project would be to improve the hundreds of pages relating to geospatial sciences and technologies (aka Geoinformatics): GIS, GIScience, Remote Sensing, Cartography, GNSS, Geodesy, and so on. Interest in these fields is rapidly increasing, but the relevant Wikipedia pages are of varying degrees of quality, and many topics are missing. Bplewe (talk) 06:17, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

- Wikipedia:Maps (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs), which includes both pages relating to cartography as a discipline, but is primarily focused on producing maps for a variety of topical pages.
- Wikipedia:Geography (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs), which includes many pages relating to geoinformatics, but appears to be more focused on improving pages about places.
These existing projects do not appear to have given much attention to geospatial topics, and many of the experts in these fields that we would like to have involved would not consider themselves cartographers nor geographers.
