Description
[edit]A WikiProject designed to cover various articles on the Electronic Arts video game company (examples include: Brands like EA Sports, EA Sports BIG, as well as game series like Madden NFL and Burnout). This WikiProject would most likely be a child project of WikiProject Video Games. Zappa (talk) 00:40, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
- I joined many other groups like the aforementioned WikiProject Video games, and I decided to branch out, and be more specific with the project's topics, and since EA is known as one of the more well-known video game companies, I feel that it warrants a WikiProject of its own, and with a whole group of editors on pages like Madden, Burnout, Battlefield, and all, I think EA's presence could be felt a lot more.

Discussion
[edit]Aren't things like this usually created as a task force of WP:VG? (like WP:NINTENDO) ... sure EA is a big company, but Nintendo is pretty big, and it only has a taskforce, so I'm not sure a separate wikiproject can be sustained. 70.49.124.225 (talk) 03:59, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Not always. I'm probably going to be rather biased here, but EA actually DOES have a rabid fanbase. Look at all the gaming commentators they drew in on YouTube. Yes, it's a pretty bad answer. Anyway... I'm pretty sure the reason why Nintendo is a task force is because it was intended to be one in the first place, before the creation of the council's proposals. Yeah, but WikiProject Square Enix is a big company, and it's a separate WikiProject, and even game series like WikiProject Pokemon and WikiProject Halo exists. Even a WikiProject Halo exists. So I can't really see why EA can't have one. Zappa (talk) 21:53, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]Besides, if you read the description, this project is also intended to be a child project of WP:WikiProject Video games, in a fashion similar to WikiProject Halo, WikiProject Square Enix, WikiProject Pokémon, and WikiProject Xbox. Zappa (talk) 00:40, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]Unlike Halo or Pokemon, this isn't one ficitonal universe with a rabid fanbase, unlike Square Enix, EA isn't a company with a rabid fanbase intent on making every Final Fantasy a sellout. 70.49.124.225 (talk) 03:36, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]Yeah, but looking at EA's game series, they actually have a diverse amount of success, unlike Square Enix, who's normally obsessed with FF, compared to EA, who divides the success among its series, like Madden, NCAA Football, Battlefield, Burnout, etc, which is why practically every game they make normally get over 8 by IGN, and normally, the games usually get over a million copies sold nationwide. Zappa (talk) 03:48, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I support the proposal. Madden, Battlefield and others are extremely popular and have huge fan bases. This is a good idea. Soulboost (talk) 09:30, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
