Wikipedia:WikiProject Awareness/Presentation outline

This is an outline for a potential presentation that could be done to increase awareness of Wikipedia to groups of people at a time. If this is widely used, a Powerpoint or similar presentation could be made on this. Please feel free to add to or tweak this outline, or discuss it on the talk page.

• Wikipedia is an encyclopedia- that ANYONE can edit
  • You can go on right now to add content, fix mistakes, proofread, etc.
  • We have more than a million articles on a wide range of topics
  • Talk about basic policies: neutral point of view, verifiability, etc.
• Address common concerns
  • Most vandalism is reverted within five minutes
  • We have the tools to keep the inmates from taking over the asylum
  • Talk very briefly about sysops?
• We need more editors!
  • Especially liberal arts, obscure topics, etc.
• Question and answer session
