I am not sure how to show notability, and I have good sources. Masohpotato (talk) 00:25, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

02:28, 18 December 2023 review of submission by 2603:9001:800:BE08:8808:BDA8:9981:983B

[edit]

Hi,

I've been trying to get my Wiki page approved for the longest time. Sadly, all the editors have denied them on the clause that I don't have reliable sources. The issue with their reasoning is that the page uses sources from archived sites. I've seen multiple pages withe same sources, and they've been approved. I'd really like my page approved for my novel, as it's not only been published but also reviewed by a lot of credible companies. Please consider this. The book is titled "Conquer the Ninja World". It's got an archive from a newspaper company and a reliable publishing site. May you please send me a list of acceptable sites that is required to be accepted. We need what you consider "reliable". Apart from that, at least consider accepting the article, as it's only something minor.

Sincerely

A.K.B 2603:9001:800:BE08:8808:BDA8:9981:983B (talk) 02:28, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find a draft by that name, and there is nothing in your edit history. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:21, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You can find information about what is regarded as a reliable source at WP:RS. But reliability is not the only criterion for a suitable source: it must also be independent - so nothing written, published, commissioned, or based on information from, you, your associates, your publisher, or your distributor, is relevant. I see reviews of the book (presumably) on non-reliable sites such as Goodreads, Smashwords, and Amazon, but not from reliable papers. ColinFine (talk) 12:57, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

03:13, 18 December 2023 review of submission by 209.42.113.115

[edit]

Im confused as to why this is declined as the athlete in question has competed at multiple international events and most recently placed third at the pan am games. 209.42.113.115 (talk) 03:13, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This draft was declined, because at the time it had no indication of notability, and only two primary sources to support it. Subsequently much more content and many more sources have been added, and the draft has been resubmitted, so it seems like events have overtaken your query and we should await the next review. That said, it will almost certainly be declined again, this time for lack of inline referencing, which is a hard requirement for articles on living people (WP:BLP). -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:31, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

06:47, 18 December 2023 review of submission by Heavenofdreem

[edit]

This is my first time in wikipedia.. need assistance to create this page. Heavenofdreem (talk) 06:47, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Heavenofdreem: you're quite far away from getting this accepted, given that the draft is promotional, completely unreferenced, and has no obvious sign that the subject is notable. Where did all that information come from? Your job is to summarise what independent and reliable secondary sources have said about this person, and cite those sources against the information they have provided so that it can be verified. See WP:YFA for advice on article creation, and WP:REFB on referencing. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:17, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

12:55, 18 December 2023 review of submission by KevinmDay

[edit]

The work needed is going to require a lot more than one session. How am I supposed to save a work-in-progress? Just tell me that and I will do it. Even now I have a great many references et al to add but I now have to start over again? Just say so, if so. And I will choose an entirely different venue for this. No worries. Trying to do the right thing here but, it is not clear at all what that is. Please advise! KevinmDay (talk) 12:55, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(moved from previous thread) I need to complete this in steps saving my work as I go. Just like any document. Why is this so different. Please just tell me how to save a work-in-progress. I have a lot of references I want to add right now but how? Where is my work at? If I have to start all over again every single time, I come here to work then this venue is simply of ZERO use to us. Please advise. KevinmDay (talk) 12:59, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You save a work in progress by picking "Publish" - this really means "save" (not "publish as an encyclopaedia article"), but was changed a while ago to emphasise that everything anywhere in Wikipedia, including drafts and sandboxes, is a public page that can be read by anybody. ColinFine (talk) 13:01, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@KevinmDay: to answer your question "Where is my work at?", there is a draft at  Courtesy link: Draft:NIMITZ TIC TAC (UAP) Encounter – presumably that's what you're referring to? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:05, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

13:56, 18 December 2023 review of submission by Flag Creator

[edit]

This list of flags includes some Syrian flags. But, users are declining the submission because it already exists. What about the other ones? List of Burundian flags, List of flags of Romania, List of Irish flags etc. They all are the same subject as this. #bodyContent aFlag Creator { background-color: #ffa500; color: #ggggggg; font-weight: monoscope; } 13:56, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Flag Creator this means that you have to prove that a List of Syrian flags is sufficiently notable to be an offshoot of the Flag of Syria article. Sungodtemple (talkcontribs) 14:32, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And how can I do that? Like what changes am I supposed to remove/add to make it an offshoot? #bodyContent aFlag Creator { background-color: #ffa500; color: #ggggggg; font-weight: monoscope; } 12:37, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

14:41, 18 December 2023 review of submission by EN MSC

[edit]

Dear community, I have received feedback on my submitted article but require further clarification as in how and to what extend the article needs editing. It is written in a factual and informative style, supported by sufficient secondary sources. I am unsure on how to proceed now. Can someone support me here? Thank you so much in advance Andrea Harmsen, expert for sustainability communication and content at the MSC (talk) 14:41, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@EN MSC: IMO, the draft gets off to a pretty good start, but then in the 'Sustainability evaluation' section it becomes an essay, with possible original research to boot. Please note that Wikipedia articles should be written by succinctly summarising what existing, reliable (and preferably independent) sources have said, without adding POV commentary, analysis, or synthesis not provided by the sources cited.
I also remember noting when I first saw this that your username suggests affiliation with the MSC, which your signature above seems to confirm. Given that you refer to the MSC in this draft, that probably gives rise to a conflict of interest (WP:COI) which should be disclosed. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:55, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

22:02, 18 December 2023 review of submission by WriterUnlimited

[edit]

This article is denied for reliable resources, however, these are heavy-duty trucking industry approved citations. Any specific guidance? WriterUnlimited (talk) 22:02, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@WriterUnlimited: yes and no; this draft was declined for lack of evident notability, which is indeed evidenced through sources, however it's not enough for those sources to be reliable, they must also be independent, secondary, and provide significant coverage of the subject. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:17, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

23:55, 18 December 2023 review of submission by Seaquell

[edit]

I want to add some images for the above page but as a new user I do not have authority to upload images. When will I be granted authority to upload images? Seaquell (talk) 23:55, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This page is for asking about drafts in the submission process. You may use the general help desk or Teahouse to ask other questions- but to answer you, you should be able to upload images now, as you are autoconfirmed. 331dot (talk) 00:40, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
