My draft entry for New Model in Technology and Engineering was rejected. I understand the reasoning, but do not see how I can provide better references:
The entry is about a new Higher Education Institution in the UK. The institution (NMiTE for short) has buildings and staff, so it exists. It has £23M of funding from the UK government. Perhaps most significantly it has been allowed (by JANET) a .ac.uk domain. It therefore has its own accredited web site nmite.ac.uk - just like every other HE institution in the UK, all of which seem to have a Wikipedia entry.
I would like to provide the independent reference to these facts which you request, but I don't see how I can. I looked at other small UK HE institutions (eg the Royal Northern College of Music) and most of the evidence cited in their articles is to web sites in the .ac.uk domain. They of course have the advantage that they have existed for 100 years, so they have things like famous alumni, which NMiTE does not (yet!).

- @Goodhew: The provision of an ".ac.uk" site isn't itself evidence of warranting an article. Precedent in deletion discussions does usually state that all non-profit accredited universities are notable, so long as their evidence is demonstrated. Thus far NMite is not an accredited university, so it needs to meet Organisational notability. It's possible it doesn't yet meet that - very few organisations with 8 teaching staff would have sufficient coverage to make the cut, especially coupled with your short time of being. - @Goodhew: You've cited 2 local newspapers (!) and a primary source. You can do a lot better than that. Here's an article from the Daily Telegraph for starters: [1]. I found this in a few seconds by using a well known search engine!
- I have no doubt whatsoever that this institution will be notable in due course (if it is not already), but:
- You need to provide adequate verifiable and reliable sources which cover the subject in a non-trivial way
- Notability needs to be proven
- If the above are not possible yet but may be in the future, we wait
- Articles must be written in an encyclopedic tone. Your draft is decidedly not - it reads more like a promotional piece.
- Articles must represent a neutral point of view
- I suggest you look for further substantial secondary sources like the one I found at The Telegraph. If they exist, then flesh the article out with reference to the above guidelines. If the coverage is simply not there yet, then now is not the time to have an article on the institution. --kingboyk (talk) 16:12, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
