Would this link be considered " Noteworthy"? http://nashvillepost.com/tech/csi-awareness-is-working-closely-with-tennessee-law-enforcement

Thanks in advance!

Hi Chrisnadeau1973. If you're asking whether the link helps demonstrate that Kris Degioia is notable, no, it doesn't. For a start, it's a dead link. When I follow it I receive a 404 error. Searching by apparent title, all I find is a press release from her company, CSI Awareness. Sources that are not independent of the subject cannot establish notability. --Worldbruce (talk) 17:02, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am writing this page about my Father. I have a list of articles he wrote and I was able to use the doi reference generator to generate the references for journal articles. However I also have a list of references to speeches and presentations that he gave. Typically these are publishes as an article in a book of proceedings. Most of these have a DOI but it is only for the book, not the article. Can you tell me how to properly list or refer to these speeches?

Hi MickieB add a "chapter=" parameter to the book citation with title of the article/speech. Ad be sure to distinguish the author, your father, from the editor(s) of the proceedings. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 17:49, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Is the receipt of 2 NASA medals (Exceptional Scientific Achievement and Distinguished Service) enough to establish this person as "notable". I have many citations of his own publications in scientific journal and international conference proceedings. References back to his work are overwhelming in number but do I need to include some of these also??

MickieB (talk) 20:03, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@MickieB: Hello, Mickie. Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. Our apologies for the delay in response. To answer your question, my understanding is that NASA awards dozens of such medals to its employees each year. Although the receipt of two of them is certainly something that should be mentioned in a biography, I don't see how this type of "in house" award can serve to demonstrate encyclopedic notability. But I think it will be more helpful to discuss the larger problem with your submission -- the biography is essentially unsourced. You've provided references for the many articles that were written by the subject, but the existence of a bibliography is not going to be enough to demonstrate encyclopedic notability. There is only one biographical reference, and that one serves merely to demonstrate that the subject was an experimenter on some projects. Without extensive sourcing of the subject himself, your draft is unlikely to be accepted for publication. I hope this response was helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. The person I'm writing about has popularity as a media personality. So I'm writing article on her. She doesn't have a biography article which is why this article is being created. I found some news and articles describing her popularity or media appearance which may be or not be advertisement or such but these sources at leaset prove her work and importance.

Based on all this, is it possible to have her biography or cant have one now?

I need assistance finding reliable source/sources on her. I got some and provided those now and I hope that these are enough judge her and enough to approve her biography.

Thanks.
