[edit]

My draft was submitted almost a month ago, and it is still being reviewed. I wonder what is the timeline of the process and approximately when I would get the result back. Thank you

Hi CARLOS FLORES MOTTA. About 375 drafts have been pending review longer, so it will probably take another week or two for a volunteer to reach this one. While you wait, you could improve Wikipedia by helping reduce one of the many other backlogs at Wikipedia:Community portal. --Worldbruce (talk) 11:32, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I created a draft page for consideration for the country music artist, Andrew Frelick, and it was deleted because someone said the text used was copyrighted from his press kit page and Music Nova Scotia's page, but the text on those sites were written by me as well and I had full rights to the information. Is there a way to have my page undeleted?

Hi Angeleyesaw1980. If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
Even if you change the copyright notices on those web pages to a compatible license, it likely will be impossible to use the text here. Material on Frelick's web page has been written to promote Frelick, a purpose which is incompatible with Wikipedia. Writing an encyclopedia article is entirely different.
Moreover, if you are closely connected enough to Frelick to have written the text on his web page, then you should not be writing about Frelick on Wikipedia. --Worldbruce (talk) 17:45, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm requesting some help to get this draft page accepted to the live space. I was rejected for the submission reading "more than an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia". Kenco is a company with over 65 years of history and I have added 18 independent published, reputable sources. There are similar companies in the same industry with wikipedia pages that I looked at to help guide this outline: Ryder, Exel, Genco.

Please have a look at my draft and let me know if there is a section that is particularly biased or if I need more sources in order to be accepted. Thank you for your time.

I am attempting to create an entry for an up-and-coming recording artist. I understand that I need more verifiable information. Can I get assistance on exactly what is required? I am unsure if I need vital records for the subject's personal life and history, or what might make her "notable" for inclusion in Wikipedia. Thanks!

Jmemaybe (talk) 16:48, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jmemaybe. The relevant notability guideline is WP:MUSICBIO. "Up-and-coming" is essentially synonymous with "not notable". The wisest thing to do would be to set the topic aside until Rubyn has garnered significant attention by the world at large and over a period of time, as evidenced by multiple, independent, non-trivial works about Rubyn in reliable sources (think Billboard, Grammy Awards, Houston Chronicle, El Nuevo Herald, and the like).
Meanwhile, there are a million other ways to improve Wikipedia. See WP:Community portal for how to help. --Worldbruce (talk) 18:09, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
User:Jmemaybe - I will add to that to see WP:UPANDCOMING, about the use of the phrase "up-and-coming", and will say that it really means more or less "not yet notable (and we, their small group of fans, expect that they will be notable soon)", but that Wikipedia doesn't use a crystal ball to determine which not-yet-notable stars will be notable in the future. If enough independent sources have written about an up-and-coming artist, maybe they have come up and arrived. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:17, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why was my article declined?
