Request on 02:07:56, 15 May 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by DreMystro91

[edit]

I wanted to get assistance of the draft for Laron Pierce's article. I need some guidance on how to get it up there without getting deleted.

DreMystro91 (talk) 02:07, 15 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@DreMystro91: Start by gathering reliable sources that are independent of Pierce. Has an academic written a biography of him, or published one or more articles about him in scholarly journals? Has he been the subject of magazine or newspaper articles? Is there a TV documentary or movie about him? If there are no in-depth, arms-length, reliable secondary sources about Pierce, then he does not satisfy the notability critiera for inclusion, and Wikipedia should not have an article about him. See the essay "Wikipedia:No amount of editing can overcome a lack of notability" for more information. --Worldbruce (talk) 16:08, 16 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 05:00:03, 15 May 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by Rayarainbow

[edit]

I submitted an article that had eight citations. They were reliable sources including magazines and books. The topic of the article is a deceased political figure in Israel. There is already a Hebrew wikipedia page published about this person, and it uses many of the same sources as the one I submitted. Yet, somebody declined my submission by claiming it did not have reliable sources. I feel the editor was discriminating against the subject of the article, since his/her stated reason of "lacking reliable sources" could not be true.

Rayarainbow (talk) 05:00, 15 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have just had a look for you. The editor declined it originally for not having reliable sources, but this was changed. Your article was declined because the referencing needs fixed. Please visit WP:INLINECITE where you can find guidelines on how to reference. Your references seem fine, but you need to format them appropriately on your article. Once you have fixed this, you can resubmit your article. st170etalk 06:03, 15 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah sorry about that mate, I accidentally used the wrong decline criteria, (the 'v - submission is improperly sourced' criteria on the review tool is ambiguously worded). I corrected this immediately afterward, but forgot to delete the automated message from the first review that was placed at your talk page. Sorry for any confusion, totally my fault.
