17:45:07, 20 July 2015 review of submission by Hærdt

[edit]

May I please have another revision of this page which I recently have submitted to the community. A few updates were made and I'm wondering if someone can help me out with the next step of publishing the page. This article was vetted previously by MatthewVanitas (talk. 09:46:19, 20 July 2015 review of submission by Ahmedahmed777

[edit]

Hello. How do I delete a draft that has been rejected several times?

Ahmedahmed777 (talk) 09:46, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Ahmedahmed777. I see that you have created Draft:Meshal Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (2) and also User:Ahmedahmed777/sandbox/Meshal Al-Sabah. Also a user called Ahmed Al-Sabah 2013 has created one about the same person, Draft:Meshal Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Also, a user called Hrh4444 created one some time ago at User talk:Hrh4444.

The most current one of these is Draft:Meshal Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Here are some issues:

  1. Draft:Meshal Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (2) is now not needed. If you edit it to remove all of the content, leaving it blank, an administrator will come along and delete it for you.
  2. User:Ahmedahmed777/sandbox/Meshal Al-Sabah: do the same thing.
  3. User talk:Hrh4444 - Was this old draft also created by you under another account name? If so, you can log in with that name and blank it. If not, someone else will deal with it.
  4. Draft:Meshal Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah: Was this draft created by you under a different account name, or was it made by another user entirely? I see that you have added your information there, but instead of combining it with the existing information, you just dumped in the text, creating a lot of duplication; this can be fixed. You also added a paragraph which was copied from the web site http://www.kcl.ac.uk/sspp/departments/mems/people/associates/Visiting-Fellows/Meshal-Al-Sabah/index.aspx or another such source, and will have to be rewritten in your own words for copyright reasons.—Anne Delong (talk) 11:02, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

10:35:13, 20 July 2015 review of submission by 79.180.210.227

[edit]

I have continuously been checking my page each week to see how many reviews are in front of my entry. However, for the last couple of weeks my page has seemed to be going backwards... It was once number 718 and now is further back, how is this possible?! I have been waiting for about 3-4 weeks and I am becoming frustrated that rather than progressing through the review process it seems that the page is being hindered. 79.180.210.227 (talk) 10:35, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That number is simply the total number of drafts waiting for review, it is not at all an indication of a position in a queue. There is no queue as such, drafts are sorted only by the date of submission. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 15:49, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

10:45:19, 20 July 2015 review of submission by Muslala

[edit]

I have been checking my pages progress over the last couple of weeks. However, it seems recently that all progress towards the review have been hindered. My submission continues to fall down the list and I am wondering why this is? Last week I was 718 and now I am 764... My patience is growing thin, seeing as it has been 3-4 weeks. Muslala (talk) 10:45, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

We are experiencing a backlog at AfC; 3 weeks is well within our time frame. Please be patient. Best, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 22:44, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Draft: Holy Redeemer Catholic parish, Belize City

[edit]

Does this have any chance of acceptance in Wikipedia? It is about the chief Roman Catholic parish in the country of Belize and the many ways this parish has impacted the country for over 150 years. At the recommendation of a (new) editor I just made numerous in-line footnotes from the major source that I had listed as "Source" at the bottom, though I'm not sure this is an improvement. Can you suggest how this article might be made more acceptable for Wikipedia?jzsj (talk) 12:51, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Offhand it looks worthy of a new article to me. ★NealMcB★ (talk) 18:28, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

15:16:28, 20 July 2015 review of submission by Clemendove99

[edit]

Hi,

This is directed at Wikipedia and also LaMona who reviewed the draft-article for Draft:Family_Lives_On_Foundation in regards to rejecting the article. I made a lot of edits to help gain a better description of the organization for Wiki standards, but LaMona rejected the article because it is not worthy of notability. Now I understand 'notability' needs citations, articles published, reviews, etc. But LaMona said Wikipedia cannot accept some local charity, it must be statewide or national.

To make case in point, Family Lives On Foundation actually has reached out to about 41 states in the U.S.A. as of April 2015 and it is seeking a goal of all 50 states--which at this point, it is national. They set up Skype interviews with families nationwide and a network of volunteers across the grid help out with traditions such as one with a family taken to an Anaheim Ducks NHL game. Family Lives On is not just specific to Chester County, PA... it is valid and meets notability for being published on Wikipedia.

I would like to resubmit this article piece for consideration.

Thank you.

Clemendove99 (talk) 15:16, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Clemendove99: What reviewers are looking for is evidence of significant coverage of the organization by international, national, or at least regional, media. Attention solely from local media (such as the combination of the Philadelphia Inquirer and a local West Chester, PA newspaper) is not an indication of notability (see WP:AUD). It isn't directly a question of how wide an area the organization covers, but how wide an area covers the organization. If the organization is having an impact across most of the US, then it shouldn't be too hard to find a profile (think paragraphs, not two sentences) of the organization in The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Dallas Morning News, or what have you - anything outside of the local media market. 15:22:25, 20 July 2015 review of submission by TCVCJ

[edit]

Could someone please check on this article for me? I last submitted it to each reviewer that had looked at it before - I have heard nothing! Thank youTCVCJ (talk) 15:22, 20 July 2015 (UTC) TCVCJ (talk) 15:22, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@TCVCJ: Clicking resubmit five times in a row (and on a draft which had big red error messages regarding the references) ended up being counter-productive. In the course of fixing the problems the draft became unsubmitted. You may resubmit again (just click once, all reviewers will see it) but although the draft is much improved from the first version, I don't see any realistic hope that it will ever be approved as a stand alone article.
Consider the more famous The Dragon's Tail motorcycle trail. It doesn't have an article of its own, it's one paragraph in U.S. Route 129. I recommend you abandon the pursuit of an entire article for the trail, and instead add the sourced Back of the Dragon material to existing article Virginia State Route 16. [edit]

Good night here to all the Wiki crew. I am here to ask what's the method to change my page name? I just found out despite using Tosh Rock, they use Tosh Zhang as the name. I have gone through all the Wikipedia pages about changing page name but it didn't work. Can you please help to explain in layman's terms? Thanks.

Yullin Leow (talk) 16:17, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide a target name and we'll move the submission for you. Best, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 22:47, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 19:02:13, 20 July 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by Dadquixote

[edit]

I submitted an article on a communication model called The Interpersonal Gap which was created by Dr. John Wallen. It absolutely deserves a wiki page. I would be happy to edit my submission but the reviewer gave me no reason...simply a rejection. Is there someway to get feedback so I can edit?

Dadquixote (talk) 19:02, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there! Thank you for contacting us. A few pointers about your submission: 1) It is a long muddle of information; try using subsections. 2) It is written in a how-to manner; keep in mind we are an encyclopaedia. 3) It is written in a non-neutral manner. 4) There is no indication this is notable. 5) You didn't provide appropriate referencing. As a final remark: it is quite possible your submission is just something that can't have an article on Wikipedia. For more information see WP:NOT, otherwise fix the aforementioned issues and resubmit. Cheers, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 22:57, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

At this point I'm totally confused. I just started making some minor edits and then tried to add in references. The result back was that I did it wrong and now I don't know what to do. Is there a live person I can talk to to guide me through this maze? Or is there a knowledgeable person here in southern Maryland that I can contact to help make the changes. I now have verification of all the statements in the article but I need to know how to get them into the articleNchalker (talk) 19:59, 20 July 2015 (UTC) Nchalker (talk) 19:59, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there! I just fixed some markup errors within the submission. As for referencing, just click on where you want a reference added in the text, then click on Cite on the upper central part of the editing window and choose the relevant template (such as Book, News, etc.) and then simply fill in the blank fields. Ask again if in doubt and we'll be happy to help. Best, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 22:52, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
