16:25:26, 5 February 2015 review of submission by Seyyedhosseinzadeh

[edit]

Dear Editor,

I had a page submitted to wikipedia which is removed now for "(G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of http://qumec.org/pages/eQUMEC.html)" reason. I am Founder, developer and Owner of QUMEC and eQUMEC softwares and its web page (qumec.org). So, Would you please let me know how could I solve this copyright infringement and confirm that information of eQUMEC on wikipedia would be free to use?

Sincerely, Dr.Hamed Seyyedhosseinzadeh (Ph.D)

Hello Seyyedhosseinzadeh, let me quote another reviewer from further up the page:

Wikipedia assumes that any text published on the web, unless it specifically states otherwise, is under copyright. If you would like to use text from a website owned by your company, please see WP:Donating copyrighted material. However, even if the copyright issues are resolved, most text written on companies' websites is not appropriate for Wikipedia, as it is often not written in the proper tone and is too promotional sounding. You are much better off trying to write things in your own words. --Ahecht (TALK

That's pretty much the standard advice, along with "don't write a page for your own business since experience shows almost nobody can do so neutrally about themselves." MatthewVanitas (talk) 16:29, 5 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

23:05:29, 5 February 2015 review of submission by CharlesBGlazer

[edit]

My submission was rejected because of copyright infringement. The "copyrighted" material in question is from the Rio Blanco Corp website; I wrote that copy as well, so the material is mine, and there is no copyright issue.

Now the draft seems to have disappeared. How can I resolve this?

Thanks!

That's pretty much the standard advice, along with "don't write a page for your own business since experience shows almost nobody can do so neutrally about themselves." Also, unless you are the owner of the Rio Blanco Corp, then you do not own the copyright to the company website, your boss would. And in whatever case, if you're affiliated with the company, you probably shouldn't be trying to write its WP article. See the guideline WP:Conflict of interest for why this is a bad idea.
