70.196.88.6 (talk) 15:37, 14 August 2015 (UTC) Why does our article keep getting declined?[reply]

What article? I couldn't find anything other than the above post in this IP's contributions. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 13:01, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I am confused as when I re-wrote the Trevor Gray page I just left on all the music knowledge I knew about him - and rewrote a lot of sources to omit YouTube references etc that could be deemed self-referential. The current draft I wrote seems to me to have all the elements that sulfurboy has rejected (if you follow the sources you will see these confirmed):

notability of music related topics - Trevor Gray's group Apollo 440 (he is founder and current member) released 4 albums under Sony Music internationally, achieving gold status in at least Sweden and Poland (I've seen the gold discs!). Also most of their singles and albums have charted. Again many singles had national radio play as they have had 3 Top 10 records in the UK alone. Apollo 440 have written and performed TV themes and Hollywood blockbuster film themes - Charlie's Angels, Lost in Space, Formula 1 etc.

Golden rule: significant coverage - discogs especially but see below reliable sources - wikipedia!, BBC, discogs, officialcharts.com, allmusic, cduniverse, musicbrainz, kirstymaccoll, jeanmicheljarre, abc.net.au, universalmusicenterprises etc independent - nearly all my sources are independent of Trevor Gray or Apollo 440! Only the reverbxl ones are not (they manage him!).

verifiable - see reliable sources above

notable - how about being the founder of a group that'd 10 Top40 and 3 Top10 hits! And played with that many 'notable' bands and musicians

Please can you advise me where I'm going wrong!! Thanks James

Hi JW106, it seems to me you might have more success if you wrote about the band "Apollo 440" rather than about only one of its members. Unless Gray has achieved actual notability as a solo artist he will simply never be notable as an individual musician, no matter how many different bands he has been involved with. By the way, Wikipedia is not a reliable source so never cite it as a reference, instead simply wikilink relevant existing articles. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 14:37, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Wyx0127, I have not found any indication in your contributions log that you have ever worked on a draft article. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 13:21, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 23:30:57, 14 August 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by Keshakoko1

I'm sorry but this is the most difficult website for posting an article I've ever seen. I never created a website in my life but did so with great ease compared to this. I copied and pasted an article which should have been a no-brainer. I provided all info but someone rejected it?? It takes forever to try and edit to your satisfaction. Can someone else edit this article instead of Primefac? Is there a phone number I can call to explain what I'm doing wrong. I started this back in May and it is still a draft. Thanks!

OK - wrote in this section and hit Save Page but have no idea if it's actually going to someone who can help? What is very confusing is a string of questions and answers to a bunch of people I don't know?? Keshakoko1 (talk) 23:32, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Keshakoko1, it seems this is about Draft:Larry Geller. The problem the reviews have pointed out so far are that your references are not inline footnotes and more significantly that sources you have listed so far are weak, only one of them, the Fox News magazine page, is a mainstream reliable source. The guideline you need to follow is Referencing for beginners. If you need further help, you now know where to find us. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 07:10, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
