07:52:38, 24 November 2014 review of submission by Info IIJ

[edit]

I would like to know if my submission is in the right place to be reviewed. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:International_Institute_for_Justice_and_the_Rule_of_Law Should it be in another space?

Many thanks.

Info IIJ (talk) 07:52, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Info IIJ. Yes that draft is in the correct place, and is waiting to be reviewed, which can take several weeks. You might like to format your section headings as described in Wikipedia:CHEATSHEET. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 08:46, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Also, please check my comment on the draft page about copy-pasting from the organisation's own website. And finally, you may also wish to add wikilinks to the draft. It does not currently have any. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 08:50, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

09:50:56, 24 November 2014 review of submission by Frosty1000

[edit]

Hi - my article was just declined due to "submission's references do not adequately evidence the subject's notability". Since the company the article is about went under 12 years ago, it is difficult to find a lot of references (and a couple that I remember are now 404's etc). Initially though, I am guessing the mobygames.com sites I used for reference are the ones that I should avoid? Thanks in advance.

Frosty1000 (talk) 09:50, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Frosty, you can start with the list of vetted sources at WP:VG/RS. The page explains why we don't allow MobyGames as a source. It also links to a custom Google search page that will search all the relevant sources at once. You still probably want to dig up print sources for this one (as print mags would have been more contemporary to the company) but at least there is some information on the company's products and history in that custom Google search. (Remember to put "Crawfish Interactive" in quotes to search for it as a phrase.) Finding print mags digitized online is a little harder, but WP:VGSOURCE has some advice. I am no longer watching this page—ping if you'd like a response czar  13:13, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks heaps to both of you for the help and links - I have a lot more understanding now of what needs to be done.

[edit]

reviewer said "attempting to gift a good, neutral description of the facts, among that area unit the facts that varied interpretations and points of read exist." I believe I have already done this. Article is as neutral as can be. What more can be done?????

JWalk6 (talk) 14:25, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@JWalk6: - the problem with company and organisation articles is they have a tendency to focus on facts and figures such as turnover and directors. To the layman Wikipedia reader, however, these are generally unimportant trivia that don't explain how the company is important - fundamentally it's a manufacturer of industrial supplies and furniture. A neutral article would list the pros and the cons of the company, including times it made a loss, product failures, negative reviews and criticism. I did a search for "global industrial furniture", but didn't really find anything that wasn't obviously promotional, mentioning only good things about the company. Sorry. 19:14:38, 24 November 2014 review of submission by Edcooney

[edit]

I had submitted an article about Sandy Malone, however it was recently rejected. I am not quite sure of what I am doing wrong and would love for someone to look it over! I have hyperlinked and provided references as well. Thank you so much!

20:51:18, 24 November 2014 review of submission by John B123

[edit]

Hi The above article was rejected 'This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources'. I have cited 16 different sources, it would help to know which areas need more support. (I note there are a lot of existing pages with far less citations).

Secondly, the the page is more relevent to the UK than worldwide, is it possible to add 'in the UK' to the page name?

Thanks

@John B123:  Done: article moved to Draft:Prostitution in the UK and the Internet Ahecht (TALK

I started making a Wikipedia article. I saved it only because I don't want to lose the work I started but I'm already getting it deleted/rejected. I literally hardly started on it. How can I save my article just as a draft??

Clairemckinneypr (talk) 20:51, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved your draft to Draft:Ruth W. Crocker and left some additional comments on your talk page. Huon (talk) 21:16, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
