Request on 00:52:44, 21 November 2014 for assistance on AfC submission by Efrain Ib

[edit]

I submitted a rewrite to the South County Economic Development Council today, November 20, 2014, at 4:50 PST, can you confirm new submission went through on this date and approx time, please. And indicate turn time so i can report to others. Thank you. Efrain Ib (talk) 00:52, 21 November 2014 (UTC)efrain[reply]

Efrain Ib (talk) 00:52, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No you didn't actually submit anything. You wrote on your userpage, not on the page where the article is being developed and you didn't submit what you had written for review. Continuing to create new pages, rather than editing the existing submission is causing both you and us problems and confusion.
Also you mention reporting to others, does this mean you are admitting a conflict of interest and are actually being directed to write this page?

[edit]

Correction are done after a first review from DGG. Thank´s for the kind advice. As you will see, I´m not a native speaker. So I´m not perfect aware in the sense ofe "No praise / no advertisement-stile" etc. If the reference "Hans Zehetmaier is included in Computerwoche 's Hall of Fame as one of the most important figures in IT in Germany.... woulbe be such a phrase: "Hall of Fame as one of the most important figures in IT in Germany" : this ist the official translation of this indicative (In German: Hall of Fame der wichtigsten IT-Persönlichkeiten in Deutschland"

It would be fine to get some help or advice to publish thie article im quality soon.

Nheoklrgeeurs (talk) 09:37, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I would think that saying Zehetmaier had been included in Computerwoche's Hall of Fame was sufficient, and the rest is superfluous info that is there to impress rather than inform. Rankersbo (talk) 11:42, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I recently created an article called 'Council for Educational Technology'. It was deleted for copyright reasons - apparently because of material similar to edtechhistory.org.uk - which I also write. I understand why you have rejected it, but the article also contains substantial original text by me, different from edtechhistory.org.uk including references and factual information not existing elsewhere. It may be in your rules and you may be right in being so zealous in your expulsion of material that look similar to other websites, but I did not think Wikipedia was in the business of deleting original, helpful material - thats like burning books isn't it? Or is my article still hidden? You seem to have deleted all the links to it as well! Peter-ed-tech (talk) 14:47, 21 November 2014 (UTC) Peter-ed-tech (talk) 14:47, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Peter-ed-tech: Due to the legal liabilies, Wikipedia is intentionally a little overzealous when it comes to copyright infringement. However, don't worry, your article isn't gone for good: you can have the text emailed to you so that you can resubmit the non-infringing material. Either contact the deleting administrator RHaworth or click here to request undeletion (make sure to specify in the comments that you want the article emailed to you, not restored in place). --Ahecht (TALK

[edit]

I would like to know exactly why the article was decline, and what deems it as being full of "advertisement." We have provided adequate references. We have used our competitors and the wikipedia pages of our sister companies as a guide to writing this page. We are a large company, with over a million monthly searches of our brand name on Google. We are also a subsidiary of a fortune 1000 company, which has it's Wikipedia page. All of our sister companies are on wikipedia. People deserve to have a single page to find information about us, and wikipedia is the best public platform for that. We have tried to make the page as neutral as possible, what else can be done to have this published? Please respond as soon as you can. We have been working on this project for a long time. Thank you.

JWalk6 (talk) 17:03, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@JWalk6: This is a common misconception. Wikipedia is not an advertising platform, and editing an article about your company is strongly discouraged because it means you have a conflict of interest. As for the article itself, you use some sources which are not reliable or independent, such as press releases, your own website, and the website of your parent company. I recommend forgetting about writing this article since you have a conflict of interest. You may, however, use the reward board to request that an uninvolved editor write the article for you. Please let me know if you have any further questions. --Cerebellum (talk) 19:10, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Cerebellum: We have modeled our page based on competitors. We at least have a non-press release article highlighting our store in New Jersey, our competitors have all press releases and company annual reports as their sources. I have been trying to get an editor to write this content with no luck. What can be done?

[edit]

Hi, I received notice that the reason the draft QuestionPro, Inc. article was denied for review was because I hadn't included enough notable references. I included references that mentioned the company from external sources, as well as the BBB listing for the company. Can someone please help me with what other references I should add to the article to meet the notability requirements? Each of the references I'd included were verifiable by clicking the links to see. I also included the reference to QuestionPro from the Safe Harbor privacy site. Help is greatly appreciated! Zoeypj (talk) 20:38, 21 November 2014 (UTC) Zoeypj (talk) 20:38, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Zoeypj: - Corporate and company articles are a difficult subject to get approved on Wikipedia, simply because some editors are highly suspicious of any activity that may be seen as paid advocacy or advertising. The references you supplied show us that the company exists and is real, but that isn't enough to sustain an article - you need coverage such as dedicated articles in national newspapers or magazines. I'm trying to think of a good software as a service article that you can cross-compare as an example, but the best I can think of for now is Drupal, which although problematic, does have an extensive list of references covering the service in depth. It also states up front a very good claim of importance "It is used as a back-end framework for at least 2.1% of all Web sites worldwide", and your article would benefit greatly if it could make a comparable sort of claim. 20:46:46, 21 November 2014 review of submission by Tomas K CZ

[edit]

Dear reviewers, I have update the page of the Y Soft according to comments of the previous decline. I have been inspired by at two another successful Czech companies - Socialbakers, AVG Technologies and GoodData, who have english version page on wikipedia and provide similar quality of content. The goal why to mention Y Soft on wikipedia is, that the company is publicly known, mainly as a student startup which raised from the 2000 to a globally operating company, who is supporting the Czech start-up scene and provide good example of etrepreneurship in software area in Czech republic. I would like to ask you for you review again and accepting the page. Thank you. Tomas K CZ (talk) 20:46, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That draft is not currently submitted for review. You can submit it for review by putting {{subst:submit}} at the top of it. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 08:54, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
