March 6

[edit]

I've just found out (2014 Mar 05) that my submission of an article describing Philip Latham's novel Five Against Venus has not been accepted for posting on Wikipedia. Can someone tell me what I did wrong or what I left out?Kanawishi (talk) 01:04, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You had provided no references: there are issues with verifiability.
Additionally, the only relationship of the article subject with outside world lies in the "has become something of a science-fiction icon" phrase, which is insufficient.
What to do? To be verifiable, you should gather a lot of references independent from the subject — preferably those another entity initiated itself — and put effort into processing them and pulling information from them into the article to have it focus on such relationship with the plot summary being secondary. Hi,

My submission was accepted, but when I look for it using search, it does not come up - instead I am redirected to high net worth individuals (a different wealth category). Also, googling Ultra High Net Worth individuals AND wikipedia only shows me the same high net worth individuals page. When will my page actually be up and running?

Hi. Web search results may be biased (against your prior web search history); one may use Startpage to verify. However, your observation is correct. A web search of a quote from the article suggests it's already crawled. So I would give it approximately a week to walk its way into the infobox. (Web search results would still be ranked and may take an indefinite time to adjust to suit your liking.) —Gryllida (talk) 08:15, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You should perhaps ask at Wikipedia:Reference Desk/Miscellaneous, though you would probably need to provide further details as to what information exactly you're looking for. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 09:15, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Is there an experienced editor who knows more about numismatics and would have more insight into why this was rejected? I would like to see this article included, so that others may expand upon it and continue writing the article. There are many numismatic articles of notable European coins that are in woeful need of updating. Some of the old articles have information that is completely disorganized and has not been updated since 2008. It's hard to believe that a mainstay bullion coin of the Philharmonic's caliber has existed so long and has yet to receive its own article.Zup326 (talk) 08:52, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Zup326, I would recommend asking for feedback and assistance at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Numismatics. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 09:14, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I was just wondering if my article was in the right line for review...it's been 3 weeks since submission, and I just wanted to make sure it was in process...

Hi Kal, yes Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Jamal Fakhro is correctly submitted and awaiting review. (It should actually be at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jamal Fakhro instead, but I don't think that makes any important difference.) An article entitled "Solanum pubescens" is created by me. Kindly review it and comment on it--Drorchidaceae (talk) 10:32, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Drorchidaceae:  Doing... Anupmehra -Let's talk! 10:47, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Drorchidaceae:The draft is not submitted yet. If you put {{subst:submit}} at the top of the article, it will be queued to be reviewed as an Articles for Creation submission. I read the submission and it seems quite confusing and unclear to me. Have a look at these related articles, Olearia algida, Abelia schumannii and make improvements accordingly. If written well, it'd most likely to be created thereafter by some reviewer. Good luck! Anupmehra -Let's talk! 10:58, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there

I've been trying to submit this article but it was declined once already and I'm not sure why. The company is definitely notable and it's association with Maitland makes them even more so with over 700 employees worldwide and ranked 15th in their industry. I have used reputable sources for facts and these are taken from high profile industry publications.

Please help as I'm not really sure how I can improve it further than what I have.

I tried submitting my article, and I got feedback saying there was copyrighted material. The material is from my website. How do I proceed? The link is https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=User:Heather93087/Dr._Michael_P._Zahalsky,_MD&action=edit&redlink=1

Hi Heather, try Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted material. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 14:24, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, my first article about the Quick Mesh Project was once declined as not having enough independent or reliable sources. So I edited it and made clear the following independent sources: the local municipality, one foundation and a master thesis. It has again been declined and as this time there are no further comments, I think I maybe got the reason wrong. Can anyone help me to find out why, and how to get the article published? Thanks for sharing any idea on this with me!Ionosphera (talk) 15:39, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Ionosphera: Welcome to the Articles for Creation Help desk. I just visited your submission page and found that it is declined again for the same reason. That is, "Lack of significant coverage in the wp:secondary, wp:independent and wp:reliable sources". One time mention is not considered significant. Some of the sources doesn't mention "Quick mesh project" even once. See, WP:NSOFT for the detailed guideline. No new comment was made by the reviewer, I guess because last one is still valid. Hi @Anupmehra: Thanks a lot for your help! I resubmitted now with correspondent corrections.

I am unable to send my contribution for review please can you advise?Neo PR Ltd (talk) 15:59, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help!

https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/SARA_JAY

I am fairly new to Wikipedia, not trying to do anything outrageous. Sara Jay is one of the best known stars in Adult and in the Hall of Fame. The references ARE independent... iafd, avn etc. What am I doing wrong? There are plenty of other adult stars with pages on Wikipedia.

Thanks for any help!! Ilovepitts (talk) 18:17, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Ilovepitts: Welcome to the Articles for Creation Help desk. Your submission was declined because the subject (Sara Jay} appears to be non-notable as there are no significant coverage shown in the wp:secondary, wp:independent and wp:reliable sources. See, WP:BIO for the detailed guideline. Regards, Anupmehra -Let's talk! 18:36, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
