[edit]

Hello, I want to write my own article. About myself. Please help me. This is my first article in wikipedia. Please tell me the whole process how to proceed.

Looking Forward,

Regards,

Inamul Islam

The first step in that process is to read Wikipedia:Autobiography. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 09:40, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am a bit confused. I have submitted this article for review, but on the top it still says "Draft article not currently submitted for review", however at the bottom it says "Review waiting". What is the correct status? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ev2geny (talkcontribs) 08:27, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The current status is that it is submitted for review. The message at the bottom is correct, and the one at the top is wrong. Apologies for this confusing bug/feature. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 09:39, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

how do i submit a declined page for review after editing

Theredlinebook (talk) 09:53, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

In the pink decline box there is a should be a blue resubmit box. Press this and it should open a new window with some code and an explaination in it. Don't edit this. Click Save. Rankersbo (talk) 15:02, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
(ec) Hello Theredlinebook, you submit the page by hitting the large green "Submit" button on the template. However, you draft is nowhere near ready for review, as it is not formatted anything like a Wikipedia article, and is written in a very promotional manner rather than encyclopedically. I strongly advise you read both WP:Notability (books) and WP:Conflict of interest. MatthewVanitas (talk) 15:07, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Would you please help me make a minor edit on my page about composer Howard J. Buss: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Howard_J._Buss

Under References, the very last one is missing an “l” at the end of the address. I cannot figure out how to add it. It should read:

http://www.brixtonpublications.com/list_of_compositions-2.html

All I see when I attempt to edit this section is “reflist”, I do not know how to edit it. Please assist. Thanks.

Hello Suemanning1972, the "reflist" code simply reflects all the footnotes coded into the article. The actual text/codes for the footnotes themselves are coded into the body of the text, right next to the sentence they verify. When you're in Read mode, where does the little blue number appear that indicates that source? Wherever that is, when you're in Edit mode you'll see the whole footnote typed out there. MatthewVanitas (talk) 15:08, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The section you need is Help:Referencing for beginners which explains how to put the footnotes in the body of the article. Rankersbo (talk) 15:10, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please give me insight regarding the rejection of the article on Raymond W. Suchy. I am the second person to work on this and need some guidance. Thank you.Arpistria (talk) 15:47, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well I declined Raymond Suchy because when I checked it there was only a blank page. As I understand John CD cleared the page so you could start afresh, but you submitted the article before writing anything. Rankersbo (talk) 15:53, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
