I have submitted an articles but just noticed it was not the updated version, how can I cancel the submission and resubmit? Clientwiki (talk) 03:34, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why the list of references not matching the content? For example, it should be 12 references in the main document, but only showing 7 items in the reference section of the article I just submitted? However, I can clearly see the whole list of 12 references in the Sandbox. How come? Please help. Thanks! Clientwiki (talk) 03:44, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I looked into it, and there were a few problems: you had 2 copies of the same article on one page, which is confusing for reviewers. I was going to remove the second one, but noticed there were a number of footnotes in there which were mis-formatted, which is why they were not appearing. I fixed the formatting (you applied WP:REFNAME improperly, that's why they weren't showing; and you only need refname if you're going to use the same footnote more than once in an article), and moved them up into the top draft. Really appreciate your help Matthew! However, I still have problem with the article that a few links which are outdated already deleted in the Sandbox version but still showing in the article which I submitted. Why is it so strange? There is no automatic sychronization of your sandbox and the submitted draft, so there's no a priori reason why references removed in one should disappear in the other. And when MatthewVanitas came on this version of the draft article, which actually contains two almost identical copies, he apparently thought the first one was the "current" one and fixed its references instead of removing it outright and keeping the second one. I think I've fixed that; now the draft seemed identical to the sandbox in all places I checked.
This is precisely why you should make sure there's always just one version of your draft on that page; otherwise there's a roughly 50% chance that reviewers will look at the wrong one. I'd suggest abandoning the sandbox and directly modifying the submitted draft itself. Huon (talk) 02:19, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Your article has not been submitted. I have now done this for you. I'm concerned that the artwork in the article may be too high a quality and hence count as a copyright violation. You would need to give us express permission from Sarmiento that the pictures of his artwork are okay to upload here, as once uploaded they are subject to the Creative Commons Sharealike Licence, where anyone is free to edit and change them at any time. Uploading files as "own work" when they are not is a serious matter and can result in you being blocked from Wikipedia if you continue to do it. --Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:28, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much! The copyright attribution process can be rather complicated. I am in close contact with the artist and have taken the pictures shown, he gave me absolute copyright to use these photos. Could you guide me as to what to do in order for Sarmiento to give you express permission? How is this done?

  • By far the simplest way is simply to get Sarmiento to create his own account here and upload the files himself, saying that he owns the copyright. If that's impractical, you'll need to follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries, which involves constructing a formal email declaring the pictures can be used. Again, while you can assemble the email, only he can send this, and unfortunately the process is certainly daunting and difficult for newcomers. But asserting the copyright licence here unfortunately isn't good enough. If you can't easily do this, the pictures unfortunately will have to be deleted. Thank you so much! This clarifies everything. It is my first article and it has not been so easy, specially with the html format. I think an email would work best, he can send it no problem. Thank you again so much and I'm sorry for all the bother. I bet this could get annoying for you! I have decided then to have him upload his images and keep the article. I can then attach his images to the article I created? Won't this violate copyright?   • The problem with your article's references is that almost all of them are hosted on Qorus' own website, which is a primary source. Only the AIIM report is not hosted there, but that's also problematic as that's something written by Qorus rather than about them. You need third party sources which are reliable (ie: have a proven track record of fact checking and credibility), independent of the article's subject, and talk directly about it in some depth. --Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Your formatting is correct, but you need to put the references inline against the facts they're supposed to be citing. See WP:CITEHOW for instructions on how to do this. As far as the references go, many of them are the company's own website, which is a primary source, so can't be used to establish notability. The third party references, which are the ones from Motorindia, Benecke and Auto Tech Review, are reliable, seem to be independent and have significant coverage of the company, so they can be used, but the more references you can find like that, the better. --Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:17, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have explained the problem with your sources further up the page, and the Norwegian version of the page suffers from exactly the same issues that would cause it to be rejected here. If you cannot find any more reliable sources for Lewis, we may have to conclude he cannot have an article on Wikipedia, in which case you can delete your submission by adding {{db-self}} to the top of the article. --Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:44, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • There's a few comments about sources, but fortunately there's a bit of a get out clause. Provided the sources can verify that Nosko played full time for FC Zorya Luhansk, and that that's a professional level football club, he can be considered inherently notable per WP:NFOOTY, which will mean the article will pass. Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/John Paul Strain Well, I do have a college degree, but submitting an article to wikipedia is so difficult and overwhelming! But now that I have come this far, I really want to get my article approved! This last time it has been declined, the reviewer didn't offer any specific feedback or suggestions---just the standard reply word for word from the first denial. I had changed the article SO MUCH, that I was surprised to get the exact same response. Please help! What am I doing wrong here?? I thought I fixed the problem!
