A-Class articles department

A-Class may only be assigned following a review for A-Class qualities. Click here to begin the review process! Criteria An A-class article is one that exemplifies the very best work that has been produced by WikiProject Antigua and Barbuda and is distinguished by meeting professional standards of writing, presentation, and sourcing. In addition to conforming to the guidelines that govern the content of all Wikipedia articles, it possesses the characteristics that are listed below. It is: well-written: the writing in it is interesting and up to a high professional standard; comprehensive: it ignores none of the most important details or facts, and it puts everything into perspective; well-researched: it is a survey of the relevant literature that is both comprehensive and representative. Claims are verifiable against high-quality reliable sources and are supported by inline citations where appropriate; neutral: it presents opinions in a balanced and unbiased manner; stable: it is not subject to ongoing edit wars, and its content does not change significantly from one day to the next, with the exception of changes that are made in response to the process of selecting featured articles; and compliant with Wikipedia's copyright policy and free of plagiarism or too-close paraphrasing. It follows the style guidelines, including the provision of: a lead: a brief introductory section that provides a synopsis of the subject at hand and serves to prime the reader for the more in-depth discussion that will follow; appropriate structure: a comprehensive, but not cumbersome, structure of hierarchical section headings; and consistent citations: where required by criterion 1c, consistently formatted inline citations using footnotes—see citing sources for suggestions on formatting references. Citation templates are not required. Media. It has images and other media, where appropriate, with succinct captions and acceptable copyright status. Images follow the image use policy. Non-free images or media must satisfy the criteria for inclusion of non-free content and be labeled accordingly. Length. It stays focused on the main topic without going into unnecessary detail and uses summary style. (must fulfill all 11 requirements and sub-requirements in order to receive a score of 100%; the required minimum for A-class criteria is 10 out of 11 requirements and sub-requirements).
