[edit]

Want to be a Wikipedian? Me too! Let's run a discussion course with just ONE assignment: Write a Featured Article (highest possible quality)!

Join us on Peer-to-Peer University (p2pU.org), a free online website to help folks run independent courses online from anywhere: Course Website

I am a Wikipedia Regional Ambassador for California & Hawaii. This is a course for all skill levels that strives to write the very top of Wikipedia content--the featured article. What does it take?

My goal as facilitator (not instructor) is to answer this question with you. All who aim for Featured will learn a lot about Wikipedia and good writing skills.

Note: The process for reviewing featured articles is more laborious than would be possible to manage through a course's brief term. The goal here is to jump head-first into Wikipedia editing.

This "course" is about growing as a contributor to an open knowledge project and asking the tough questions about editing and composition for a reference collection such as a collaborative encyclopedia. However, it's actually low-commitment, and pretty accessible. We are to convene at the same time once a week to introduce new ideas, chat about our progress, and set our goals for the next week. The only real work to be done is to locate an article (or articles) and work on it (or them). It's all about navigating, getting comfortable, and learning together.

Hi, I'm Jess a.k.a kruyden, i'm new to this course.

Hello there, I'm Armando a.k.a. Misifus_Mankhado, and I'm new to this course too.
