Looks like people didn't want to spend much time reading Wikipedia this week as we have even more articles with less than 400k views...

Rank Article Class Views Image Notes/about
Bill Walton 1,300,701 William Theodore Walton III was one of the best basketballers ever, with two titles at both college and professional level, in the latter with the only one by the Portland Trail Blazers in 1977 - as Finals MVP, no less - and the 1986 one by the Boston Celtics - where after years struggling with knee and foot injuries Walton was a supporting player, but one good enough to be chosen as Sixth Man of the Year. He then followed it with two decades as a color commentator, and has now died at 71.
Donald Trump 1,046,220 The former US president has been found guilty of his 34 charges; which raises the question over whether or not is he still eligible as a presential candidate in the Media, but SPOILER ALERT: He is.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga 1,023,090 After Mad Max: Fury Road (#10) floored audiences in 2015, it was clear more post-apocalyptic stories would come out from the Wasteland that used to be the Outback, and it started with the origin story for Imperator Furiosa. In spite of great reviews, the box office has been sluggish, starting with a photo finish over The Garfield Movie during a holiday weekend (#7) only to be surpassed by the fat cat in week 2. Sure there were many things to hold its earnings back (an R-rating, more and more people eschewing theaters to wait for streaming, focusing on a side character without the same actress, insecure males who hate female protagonists), but everyone who liked it hopes it can at least make its budget back, and that the fifth actual Mad Max soon enters production.
Deaths in 2024 992,389 Zephyr in the sky at night, I wonder
Do my tears of mourning sink beneath the Sun?
2024 Indian general election 815,293 India kept consistently coming to the article regarding the renewal of the Lok Sabha across the month and a half of voting. The counting of over 900 million votes will be completed on June 4.
Grayson Murray 652,962 Grayson Murray was an American golfer on the PGA Tour while struggling with alcoholism, anxiety, and depression. In 2014, while in the lead of the Southern Amateur tournament, he withdrew and was later diagnosed with social anxiety. On May 24, 2024, he withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge, citing illness. The next day, he committed suicide at his home at age 30.
Memorial Day 599,320 One of the 11 federal holidays in the United States (I think we are working on one per month) was observed on May 27 (the last Monday of May). On this particular holiday, we honor the military service members who have died, as opposed to Veterans Day in November which honors all veterans. Graves are adorned, the dead are mourned, and various meats are scorched outdoors.
Civil War (film) 560,145 This April release, about journalists trying to reach the US president for an interview about a civil war being waged between his authoritarian government and several regional factions, hit video on demand on May 24 (ahead of its June 7 release in mainland China).
2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup 545,191 The first major ICC event tournament to feature matches played in the United States, started with their first World Cup match victory across all formats.
Mad Max: Fury Road 492,767 Before #3, George Miller revived the Mad Max series after a 30 year hiatus, replacing Mel Gibson with Tom Hardy and delivering a high-octane, very quotable ("Witness me!", "What a day! What a lovely day!", etc.) action movie that got showered with praise, made $380 million in the worldwide box office, and was the biggest winner of the 88th Academy Awards with 6 Oscars even if it didn't take Best Picture or Director.
2024 South African general election 482,562 As #5 comes to an end, another member of BRICS held their own election on May 29. The ANC of president Cyril Ramaphosa retained the majority of the votes, but the newly created MK of Jacob Zuma had a strong debut, finishing in third place.
Atlas (2024 film) 480,804 Unlike #3 releasing in theaters, this J.Lo-led sci-fi/action film went straight to Netflix. A counterterrorism expert with a distrust for AI must involve herself in a war between machines and humans, all while onboard a giant robot. The film received mixed reviews but reached the streamer's number-one spot in 71 countries and top-ten in 93 total.
Enzo Maresca 454,007 This former Italian midfielder turned coach was in talks (and soon hired) to lead Chelsea.
Charles Leclerc 449,775 This Monégasque driver for Ferrari won the Monaco Grand Prix from pole position on May 26. It's surprising the race isn't on this list because every driver in the top ten starting positions finished in that order 78 laps later.
The Fall Guy (2024 film) 437,268 In a reminder that both making money at the box office is not as easy as it was and that the theatrical-to-digital window gets way short at times, this fun action movie barely made back its budget in spite of great reviews and two appealing stars in Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, and has already been made available on video-on-demand after less than a month in theaters. Hope more audiences discover it now.
Kavya Maran 413,329 One of the viral sensations in IPL 2024 was this CEO of the Runner-up franchise. (yes, in spite of all those weeks leading the tournament itself was unable to come onto the list in its decisive games; at least the excessive mobile views make it an automatic exclusion for the annual report)
List of European Cup and UEFA Champions League finals 407,095 June 2 had Wembley Stadium hosting the 69th decision of European club football's big tournament, and like the first one in 1956 Real Madrid won. The milestone 70th next year will be on Munich's Allianz Arena.
2019 Indian general election 396,907 While the 2024 Lok Sabha election results are about to be revealed in a few days (#5), people are also interested in knowing about who got there in the previous election.
UEFA Champions League 395,943 As said in #17, the latest edition came down to 1997 winner Borussia Dortmund facing off against the Spanish powerhouse that had won 14 already, and in spite of the Germans doing their best they couldn't find the net, and once defender Dani Carvajal had a lucky break in the second period Real Madrid opened the score, and Vini Jr. hit another to really bury the adversary. Not only Real got their 15th title, but four of their players reached six of their own - and aside from Toni Kroos having one with Bayern Munich in 2013, the others were all wearing the Merengues shirt, namely Carvajal, Luka Modrić and Nacho Fernández.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 375,457 Like #3, the latest in a long-running post-apocalyptic sci-fi series, albeit this one is set in forests and coasts rather than deserts, and instead of a lot of really ugly (often mutant) humans, it's mostly damn dirty talking apes (obviously mutant).
Anya Taylor-Joy 370,485 Filling in as a young Charlize Theron in #3 is this actress who is having an exceptional decade, with that movie being the latest in a string of acclaimed and\or successful projects (Emma., The Queen's Gambit, Last Night in Soho, The Northman, The Menu, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Dune: Part 2), aside from a middling movie that only came out during the pandemic due to delays. Wonder if it's a good omen for Anya's next project The Gorge.
Bridgerton 368,689 This American Netflix series set in the early 1800s in an alternative London Regency era saw the first half of its third season releasing two week ago; and awaiting for the other half to arrive.
Carlo Ancelotti 349,490 On June 1, Don Carlo's Real Madrid won the final of #19, their 15th trophy and his fifth title as coach.
African-American names 346,576 I'm not sure on how this landed here - at most there's Reddit, even if NoStupidQuestions rather than the one that usually propelled articles here, TodayILearned. But the mobile numbers are legit, and it serves as an excuse to rewatch this video.
Nataša Stanković 343,668 The modern-day fairy tale continues to unfold for this Bollywood actress and model who gave it all up to marry cricketer Hardik Pandya amid the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown. Their first child was also born that year. And they renewed their wedding vows in 2023. Now, following internet rumors of marital strife and her not appearing at his games, she has restored their wedding photos online. To be continued…?
