The Empire Strikes Back is a 1980 American epic space opera film in the Star Wars series, directed by Irvin Kershner with a screenplay by Leigh Brackett and Lawrence Kasdan, and based on a story by George Lucas. Featuring an ensemble cast, the film recounts the battle between the malevolent Galactic Empire, led by the Emperor, and the Rebel Alliance, led by Princess Leia. Luke Skywalker trains to master the Force so he can confront the powerful Sith lord, Darth Vader. The Empire Strikes Back faced production difficulties, including actor injuries, illnesses, fires, and a budget overrun from $8 million to $30.5 million. This highly anticipated sequel became the highest-grossing film of 1980, but its reception was mixed because of the darker and more mature tone. It has been reassessed as the best film in the series, and has been listed among the greatest films of all time. It has had a significant impact on filmmaking and popular culture. (Full article...)

- Support. This might be a rerun, but it is an improvement from the initial version which got demoted in 2010, and has went through intensive revisions since.--ZKang123 (talk) 09:42, 21 March 2022 (UTC)
- Comment, from my knowledge, a lot of this Star Wars jargon has their own articles. Could you link some of these characters or other Star Wars elements? Panini! • 🥪 15:32, 30 March 2022 (UTC)

- Actually also asking, why the photo of Carrie Fisher? Why not Irvin Kershner or George Lucas? Not a big issue, just a bit puzzled.
If you want to keep, maybe improve the caption saying: "Actress Carrie Fisher, who played as Princess Leia in the film, in 2013". ZKang123 (talk) 03:22, 5 April 2022 (UTC)- Hi ZKang123, I picked Carrie Fisher as a tribute because she probably has less opportunities to appear on the front page in the future compared to the main cast and Lucas. As far as I know, the only image we have of Kershner is NFC and not used in the article. I'm happy to change it though if there are serious objections to her image.
