Perth railway station
[edit]Perth railway station is the largest station on the Transperth network, serving the central business district of Perth, Western Australia. It functions as a key interchange between the Airport, Armadale, Fremantle, Midland, and Thornlie train lines, as well as hosting Transwa's regional Australind service. Opened in 1881 as part of the Eastern Railway, the station underwent significant expansion in 1894, adopting a Victorian Free Classical architectural style. Later upgrades included a major 1988 redevelopment, the construction of underground platforms in 2007, and further modifications during the early-2010s Perth City Link project. Today, Perth station comprises a blend of heritage features and modern facilities, connecting passengers to urban and regional destinations while providing direct access to Perth Underground. It remains a central part of Perth’s transport infrastructure and urban development. (Full article...) (Full article...)
