Dementia with Lewy bodies is a common dementia characterized by changes in sleep, behavior, cognition, movement, and automatic bodily functions. Symptoms worsen over time until cognitive decline interferes with normal daily functioning. The core features are REM sleep behavior disorder (in which people act out their dreams), visual hallucinations, marked fluctuations in attention or alertness, and parkinsonism. The exact cause is unknown, but involves deposits of abnormal clumps of protein in the brain, known as Lewy bodies. Heart and gastrointestinal function, and behavior can be affected. Definitive diagnosis usually requires an autopsy, and a likely diagnosis—based on symptoms and tests—is often missed. Management of the many symptoms is challenging and involves multiple specialties. There is no cure or medication to stop the disease progression. After Robin Williams’s suicide in 2014, his autopsy found diffuse Lewy bodies explained his symptoms. (Full article...)

- Support with interest in both the article and condition. As said during the various review processes, this is a benchmark for wiki that might serve to raise the bar overall for MED content. Having on main page greatly improves the projects credibility. Ceoil (talk) 18:31, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support important dementia and timing will ensure added interest. Sandy, I assume you are aiming for 21 July, but I can't see that on this page? -- Colin°Talk 20:08, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
- Colin yes, it is for 21 July; the date shows if you look at WP:TFA/R, but doesn’t show if you come direct to this link, which you probably did per my ping. I suspect this is a design issue that should be corrected. @TFA coordinators ??? SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:20, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
