- Template:TCMDb title (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Official website of TCM is down, so TCMDb title and TCMDb name are unavailable. They are archived on Archive.is (for example this). May we delete both templates as it happened with IMDb character? Tajotep (talk) 15:11, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
Relisting comment: Also adding TfD notice to template, and noting that the website works for me, Tajotep
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Galobtter (pingó mió) 18:21, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- Keep - I've been using it every day for the last several weeks, appears to be working. Onel5969 TT me 19:04, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Galobtter and Onel5969: In my case, http://www.tcm.com/ redirects to http://www.tcm.com/unavailable I only have this problem? Most European countries have problem to use Chicago Tribune (example) or Los Angeles Times (example) due to GDPR. I'm not sure if it is similar. Tajotep (talk) 01:14, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah, probably something like that (the notice says "Oh no! Turner Classic Movies isn't available in your region.") Galobtter (pingó mió) 06:48, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
- Not sure why it's unavailable in certain regions. The only time I've heard of something like that is when governments are censoring data. Also, don't know enough about formatting to comment on a tag like Galobtter suggests.Onel5969 TT me 11:12, 20 August 2018 (UTC)

- Keep - There's no problem with the site, on my end. And I see no point in discontinuing what's often a valuable resource for further reading. Stolengood (talk) 09:46, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
- Keep - As discussed above, the TCM website and links generated by this template are working. -- Zyxw (talk) 14:15, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
- Comment The TCM site is now geoblocked to users based in the EU. This has been discussed at at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Film/Archive_70#TCM.com. Hopefully it is temporary. Betty Logan (talk) 14:35, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
- Further comment Lugnuts has discovered what appears to be a workaround.
- This is the template link: http://tcmdb.com/title/title.jsp?stid=5764
- This is an alternative link: http://www.tcm.turner.com/tcmdb/title/title.jsp?stid=5764
- If the latter link works for both European and US based readers we can simply alter the template. Either way the database still works and is accessible so I think this TfD can be closed and any further discussion should take place at the template page. - @Betty Logan: As for me, the first link is broken and the second one works. Thanks. But I don't know how to solve this problem if someone has the same problem as mine... Tajotep (talk) 01:50, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
- Keep - Something like this is bound to come up several times in the immediate future so I am wondering if there is some central spot to post about the blocking of these US based websites? MarnetteD|Talk 18:00, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
- Speedy keep. The nominator's rationale has been demonstrated to be inaccurate. Nardog (talk) 18:52, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
- Keep per reasonings provided by MarnetteD. The site is not down on my end, either. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 20:55, 20 August 2018 (UTC)

- Keep Everyone who got here first have all of the arguments that I would have made, so I can just nod my head and say, "What they said." Capt. Milokan (talk) 21:40, 22 August 2018 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was delete. No opposition. Primefac (talk) 01:21, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
This actor/singer's navigational template consists of four links: their article, a redirect to a film's section about a song, a song that does not mention the artist and a Disney group that mentions she is a member. The template is only linked to the artist's article, it does not navigate anywhere and is not needed. Aspects (talk) 14:07, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- Delete - this navbox doesn't actually aid in navigating and can't be expanded to the point that it will. cymru.lass (talk • contribs) 15:31, 19 August 2018 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was keep. Nom withdrawn (non-admin closure) Beyoncetan 2 (talk) 11:26, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
This template only includes three articles. It is necessary? Beyoncetan 2 (talk) 01:59, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- Comment. Note that this could easily be expanded based on the main article about her and (possibly) its WhatLinksHere. (Not that I'm going to do it…) I am agnostic as to whether such an expanded version would be "necessary". - dcljr (talk) 20:41, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
