The result of the discussion was merged with hexadecimal Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 22:54, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
- Template:Hexdigit (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
unused and replaced by one of the many dec2hex templates. 198.102.153.2 (talk) 22:34, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Keep clearly different from all of those, since it shows only one digit, and does not specify a prefix or suffix. dec2hex shows a prefix "0x" and hexadecimal shows at least two digits when specified using "no" suffix. Merge into hexadecimal, by making it display one digit. 70.49.124.225 (talk) 03:21, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
*Delete, if it is worth, then merge it as it is only usable for one digit, see: 18
. mabdul 12:24, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
- Comment the other templates mentioned do not work for only one digit in a simple digit display (they have markup or make a two digit output), so a merge seems appropriate. 70.49.124.225 (talk) 03:52, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
- 12 is working, so what needs to be merged? mabdul 09:08, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
- 12 0C is not working like "hexdigit", if it were it would show 12 C and neither does 0xC -- they both have an excess of characters. 70.49.124.225 (talk) 12:56, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
- mmmh, correct - as the documentation correctly states, the minimum are always two digits --> Merge mabdul 13:22, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

- comment, I have added this feature to hexadecimal so 12 C works without padding. Frietjes (talk) 16:29, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was keep Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 23:11, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
- Template:POTD row (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
doesn't appear to be in use except for a handful of old mainpage redesign proposals. we could certainly move it to project space to preserve these. the main problem with it currently is that it is creating a bunch of errors due to the category stuff at the bottom of the template. at first I thought it might be a substituted template, but that doesn't make sense given the number of parserfunctions in it. Would make more sense to have it in project space and/or remove add an option to remove the category. 198.102.153.2 (talk) 16:50, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Speedy keep. This template is used to create the POTD templates for the Main Page. —howcheng {chat} 19:44, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Speedy keep Anything used on or for the Main Page is not subject to deletion, except for illegal things like copyvios; please attempt to get consensus at Talk:Main Page or another relevant talk page for stopping the use of this template. Nyttend (talk) 00:14, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- Keep. As others have stated, this template is used to create the Featured Picture templates for the Main page. The lack of pages listed on Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:POTD row is due to fact that users are suppose to substitute the template using

instead ofPOTD row
directly (like the user talk message templates). Without the template substitution, numerous meta-templates will unnecessarily go under cascading protection (for example, see this edit summary). By the way, many of the parserfunctions are used to help automatically resize the file if it a panorama image, among others. Zzyzx11 (talk) 02:09, 2 May 2012 (UTC) - Keep - "at first I thought it might be a substituted template" - then read the documentation page, it is a subst template! mabdul 11:36, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was delete as redundant to either anchor or visible anchor. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 23:19, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
- Template:Anchor2 (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
redundant to template:vanchor. 198.102.153.2 (talk) 16:20, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Comment it is not equivalent, since vanchor creates an anchor at the visible text, while anchor2 does not, if a different visible text is specified from the anchor name. There should be a merger between vanchor, anchor and anchor2. 70.49.124.225 (talk) 03:34, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- While that is true, here a simplified example (#bar is the generated anchor ;-) ):
- foo --> foo #foo#bar#baz
- foo --> foo #bar
- and thus only an additional anchor is created which is not harming anybody. (anchor 2 has only the possibility to create one anchor)
- That is not true, since if you already have an anchor called "#bar" later in the text, this initial usage will break linking to the later anchor. 70.49.124.225 (talk) 03:54, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

- It still falls under speedy as it creates stuff in the Report: space which does not exist. As it's unused and unlinked in its 2 years of existence, it is clearly G6 and/or G8. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 18:39, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

Nominator statement: Normal use is for countries, not for states. Based on an unreliable source (personal website) Night of the Big Wind talk 14:30, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
Nominator statement: See Hawaii#Law and government. There is a lack of separate cities in the entire state of Hawaii. Honolulu is the only incorporated city in the state. Everything else is either an unincorporated place or a census-designated place. Even the citation link listed on this template includes this fact, listing only Honolulu as a city while everything else is an "Uninc" (short for unincorporated place). If we must keep such a template, either Largest cities should be modified so an extra parameter can change the header, or another meta-template should be used. Zzyzx11 (talk) 04:48, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Delete, along with possibly hundreds similar created by same user; geonames.org is a Wiki, not a reliable source, see ANI. [1] This is going to need coordinated admin cleanup and deletion, there are too many for individual AFDs, and as far as I can tell, none of them are reliable. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:56, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Can't all of these templates be rolled into one TFD? There are hundreds, all based on non-reliable sources. My declaration is to delete all of them. See ANI: [2] Not only are they based on non-reliable sources, but the notion of 10 largest cities isn't appropriate for many articles where they were added, they often replaced reliably sourced data and disrupted flow of the article, and they are sometimes undue. Lots of problems: the generic Largest cities can be adapted on individual articles if warranted. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:36, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Delete as grossly inaccurate. I live in Hawaii; Honolulu comprises eight of the "cities" listed, so those other seven "cities" have got to go right there. I also agree with Sandy "Delete, along with possibly hundreds similar created by same user; geonames.org is a Wiki, not a reliable source, see ANI. [3] This is going to need coordinated admin cleanup and deletion, there are too many for individual AFDs, and as far as I can tell, none of them are reliable." Softlavender (talk) 10:49, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Delete all "Largest cities" templates for individual U.S. states. As near as I can determine there wasn't a felt need for these templates, and the terminology "cities" is wrong for several of the states. Also, as Sandy notes, these lists are for the most part based on non-RS sources that should not be cited. (However, the numbers that I've checked are actually OK.) --Orlady (talk) 19:01, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Weak delete though the Connecticut one has a proper reference and the numbers are accurate. Best, Markvs88 (talk) 21:48, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
