The result of the discussion was Withdrawn. Now being used.. WOSlinker (talk) 21:14, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Unused character infobox. WOSlinker (talk) 19:59, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- Comment. Articles such as Lady Macbeth, Desdemona and Iago use hardcoded infoboxes. It may be useful to centralise that code here, assuming {{Infobox character}} cannot be used instead. PC78 (talk) 21:06, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- If that's done then the template used should be written as a subclass of {{infobox character}} right off the bat, making it trivial to substitute it once done. FWIW I highly doubt that {{infobox character}} lacks the flexibility to handle these. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward: not at work) - talk 12:53, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
- I've recoded the template and used it to replace the 14 hardcoded infoboxes I found. If nothing else, this makes it easier to see where and how the box is being used. No prejudice against further recoding to use {{Infobox character}} as a wrapper, or against deleting it in favour of that template. PC78 (talk) 17:58, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was delete and use {{Infobox character}} instead. Magioladitis (talk) 21:47, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Only used on one article. Could be replaced with {{Infobox character}} WOSlinker (talk) 19:58, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- Delete. Replaceable with the generic template. PC78 (talk) 21:06, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was Delete and replace with {{for}} or {{other uses}}. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 03:22, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- Template:Other uses5 (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Only 5 transclusions in mainspace. Functionality can be done by {{About}} and soon by {{Other uses}} too, which I intent to update to work with two parameters. Magioladitis (talk) 14:42, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- Delete. The added convenience this has over {{other uses6}} isn't worth it for so few uses. PC78 (talk) 21:06, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- So basically, it adds an s? That actually sounds like a good idea, but if people aren't using it now, it's probably better to move towards something that people are using. —Soap— 00:01, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- comment the wikicode is alot more complex than that. It's quite customizable, it looks alot like {{about}} . 76.66.200.95 (talk) 05:34, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- redirect to 6 and add an (s) option so that if you only supply one parameter, it adds an s to the second term. 76.66.200.95 (talk) 05:34, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- Why bother? Just retype the text by adding an s. See that from these 5 transclusions 1 isn't even proper (Plural of Fly is Flies and not Flys). -- Magioladitis (talk) 12:14, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- Most English terms take an "s" for pluralization. This is the English Wikipedia, so that is a likely construct. "Flys" is a valid pluralization for the proper noun "Fly". By taking a single parameter and letting you link to both dab pages does let you do what this supposedly does, which makes otheruses6 more useful than it is currently (which isn't that useful at the moment). 76.66.200.95 (talk) 04:31, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

- Comment you should make {{other uses}} accept three terms, since there seems to be doubt about creating dab pages that small. 76.66.200.95 (talk) 04:31, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
- Delete. We have enough templates for other uses already. -- nips (talk) 21:50, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
