Wikipedia:School and university projects/University of Durham EN ES Translation

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
E-translating Project

This page serves as central coordination project page for an English-Spanish translation project, headed by Dr Penny Johnson and Dr Simon McKinnon at Durham University. For further details of the project, please visit the Spanish version of this page.

Participating students on the MA in Translation Studies (Specialist Translation Spanish <> English) translate selected Wikipedia articles from English into Spanish and a project team is ready to assess and facilitate their progress as well as the conformity of their activities with the relevant English and Spanish Wikipedia guidelines. Wikipedia pages to be translated are pre-assessed by Penny Johnson, Simon McKinnon and other colleagues.

The translations will be drafted in sub-pages of the Spanish user page of the course. Then they will be checked twice (by the translation teams and the project team) regarding the translation itself as well as WP-guidelines and transferred to the main space, if the draft fulfills all relevant aspects.

If you are uncertain how to deal with your concrete case of copyright, please feel free to reach out to the project team first to confirm that you are in accordance with Wikipedia's licensing.
