syed hasan askari - Requesting to undelete the page

Dear Administrator: Kindly assist in undeleting and restoring the page Syed Hasan Askari (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Syed_Hasan_Askari) which I created earlier with the help of several wikipedia editors. I first created the Facebook page of Syed Hasan Askari (https://www.facebook.com/professorsyedhasanaskari) and used photographs from our family albums and records as I am grandson for late Prof Askari. Then I created the wikipedia page of Syed Hasan Askari (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Syed_Hasan_Askari) based upon my Facebook page of Syed Hasan Askari (https://www.facebook.com/professorsyedhasanaskari) therefore the photographs etc should not be in violation of copyright as both pages were authored by me with references. If you still have concerns with photographs then you can remove the photographs for the time being but kindly restore the page so academia can benefit from it. Due to this reason, requesting you to restore the page Syed Hasan Askari (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Syed_Hasan_Askari) at your earliest possible convenience. Kindly let me know if you need additional clarification and information. Thanks in advance! Syed Ahmer Raza —Syedahmerraza (talk) 15:10, 7 November 2017 (UTC)

no Declined. Start over. The Wikimedia Foundation cannot re-publish material published elsewhere without permission from the copyright holder, and we cannot accept the word of some random Wikipedia account that permission is granted for the Wikimedia Foundation to re-use. Furthermore, the article was judged promotional, not neutral, making it doubly ineligible for restoration. Finally, you have a conflict of interest. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for guidance. You should not create articles in main article space if you have a conflict of interest about the subject. Start over in draft space (such as Draft:Syed Hasan Askari), or use Wikipedia:Article wizard, and submit your article for review though Wikipedia:Articles for creation. ~Anachronist (talk) 16:31, 7 November 2017 (UTC)

Maths Time Joy

This article has been deleted before but I have made the necessary edits to ensure that this time it can remain. Quotes and claims made in the body of the article are backed up by references from several reputable press sources including Fader, Clash and i-D magazine. I have not used citations in the discography / remix sections - this is ONLY because this is not common practice from what I've seen on other musician's Wikipedia discographies. However if it's necessary, I can absolutely add citations in for those —Jameslightfoot92 (talk) 19:56, 7 November 2017 (UTC)

  • Not done – this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Maths Time Joy, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion. After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. Instead you could write a Draft:Maths Time Joy. At least enough citations will need to be added to show WP:Notability, ie independent and substantial and reliable. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:44, 7 November 2017 (UTC)

Bob Freville

I am requesting that this article be reinstated because I believe the deletion proposal was made in error or by a malicious party. The assertion was that the page was being used for self-promotion when, in fact, it was compiled by the subject's number one fan in an attempt to spread the word about the subject and his works. Article was filled with legitimate links to subject's work and interviews with the subject. 24.188.146.201 (talk) 20:51, 7 November 2017 (UTC) —24.188.146.201 (talk) 20:51, 7 November 2017 (UTC)

Done – as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored upon request.
The article has been nominated for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bob Freville. Wikipedia is not a place to "spread the word" about anything. ~Anachronist (talk) 23:49, 7 November 2017 (UTC)

File:Quentin Palfrey-Headshot.jpg

I am the Digital Communications Manager for Quentin Palfrey and the Quentin Palfrey campaign. In uploading this photo, I was working on the explicit behalf of the campaign. The campaign owns the copyright to the image that was deleted. I am happy to provide any evidence needed for this image to be restored —Joshmoses (talk) 17:15, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

@Joshmoses: Please note that the photo was uploaded to Wikimedia Commmons, not the English Wikipedia, so this page is the wrong venue to request undeletion. The deletion log is on Commons.
However, I can offer advice. You need to do a couple of things:
  1. Follow the guidance at WP:PAID to publicly disclose your paid editing status, preferably on your user page. The disclosure you wrote above will prevent your account from being blocked for now, but you do need something more visible and easily found than a comment buried in a talk page. This is a requirement of the Terms of Use, which you agreed to abide by when you created your account.
  2. We need the copyright owner to release the image under an acceptable free license, or declare it public domain. There are a couple of ways you can do this. After you do either of these, you can go to Commons:Undeletion requests to request restoration on Commons.
    • Send a release notice to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. Typically the photographer owns the copyright, so if the copyright is no longer with the photographer, we will need some evidence of copyright transfer. You may use the email template found at WP:CONSENT for the correct legalese.
    • Alternately (and this may be easier), because the image comes from Mr Palfrey's Facebook page, if you put a notice on that page that the image is public domain, or re-usable under an acceptable free license like GFDL or Creative Commons 4.0, then that should be sufficient also.
Hope that helps. ~Anachronist (talk) 17:56, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

Radartutorial

There are several unique selling propositions of this web-page:

  • It is the oldest page about radar basics. It is online since 1998 - almost 20 years. 20 years ago, publications on the Internet about radar were often referred to as secret betrayals.
  • It is the largest page about radar basics and radar technologies: the offered for download ZIP-archive contains more than 12.000 files
  • It is a page that makes young students in poor countries independent of expensive literature. Through the download offer, these people are also independent of fluctuations in the supply of the Internet worldwide.
  • It is available in a number of languages.
  • In the appendix is a library about radars, which is the largest in the world (yes, it's even bigger than the one in Wikipedia).

Yes, this site is an active competition for the Wikipedia. But it is used at many articles and files in Wikipedia to as reference. The site is also quoted in a large number of books (https://www.google.com/search?tbm=bks&q=www.radartutorial.eu). That's the advantage of this page over Wikipedia: it is quotable.

Of course, a mention in Wikipedia will be a support of this site. But this support would have earned this page as well. —c.w. (talk) 20:52, 11 November 2017 (UTC)

I'm not sure how the page was G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion. All of the contents were true statements about Reda. I've known him for over 20 years. What needs to be done to keep it from deletion? —Lkpeenut (talk) 03:56, 15 November 2017 (UTC)

It was probably due to the Career section, in which we are treated to such unsubstantiated puffery as "passionate about influencing the world positively by applying technology to improve the quality of education for all" and "immersed in the rapid growth" and "recognized Online Education pioneer". In cases like this, you need to ask the deleting admin, Jimfbleak (talk · contribs), to consider restoring it, or at least restoring it to draft space for improvement. Failing that, you can open a case at Wikipedia:Deletion review to contest the validity of deletion. ~Anachronist (talk) 04:10, 15 November 2017 (UTC)

2017 VCU Rams men's soccer team

Per previous discussion, individuals believed that college soccer season articles meet WP:NSEASONS if the team either is a prestigious program, or qualifies for the NCAA Division I Soccer Tournament that specific season. During the 2017 season, VCU not only qualified but was one of 16 teams in the nation to earn a seed in the tournament, thus meeting the discussion for what qualifies at WP:GNG and WP:NSEASONS. —Quidster4040 (talk) 03:41, 14 November 2017 (UTC)

  • Not done – this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/1978 VCU Rams men's soccer team, it cannot be undeleted through this process. Note that the closer dismissed your argument, so you will have to try WP:DRV if you think there's a chance. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:51, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
Never mind, it looks like per this discussion, situation is resolved. Thanks Quidster4040 (talk) 20:33, 15 November 2017 (UTC)

Page was on construction. Delete reason: not notability, but page was not finished, this was the first day when I work with wiki. Second reason:Your page is the same as page: https://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satanism NOT !!! Our page was about "Satanic Religion" created in Moldova, not about Categories of Satanism. We are created in 2012 and we are different from "Church of Satan" by A.Lavey. Soon we will try to register our religion at the Minster of Justice in Moldova. We are only 320 members, but we never yet maked a promotion for have more members. Please undelete our page. —Lisnic (talk) 20:39, 15 November 2017 (UTC)

Mr. Berke has several film and television credits on the Internet Movie Database so I am confused as to what makes him "not notable."

Done – as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored upon request.

Andrea Sanke

Sanke is a notable journalist and television presenter, I have a number of reliable sources and would like to rework whatever article existed back in 2006 when it was deleted. The deleting admin has been inactive since 2011, so I cannot ask them. If you could, please userfy it (move undeleted article to my userspace) so I can work on it. Thank you. —GigglesnortHotel (talk) 15:02, 16 November 2017 (UTC)

Not done. Not worth restoring. The deleted article appears to be an autobiographical combination dating ad, resume, and personal essay. Do we really want articles that describe the subject as "Blue eyes; long honey hair; and she does wear glasses!!!" and lists her favorite colors? It is also completely unsourced. Nothing usable. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:54, 16 November 2017 (UTC)
In that case no. I'll just start from scratch. Thanks. GigglesnortHotel (talk) 18:51, 17 November 2017 (UTC)

Ray Nowosielski

Page once existed and was never clear to me why it was removed. I once logged a protest years back in Talk. Now redirects to film he directed in 2006, but Nowosielski's name appeared yesterday, 11/15/17, in The Hollywood Reporter as a producer for the Oscar winning documentary director Barbara Kopple, a pioneer of the cinema verité movement. A search shows his name appears in 6 other Wikipedia pages, including two that reference his role in revealing the identity of Alfreda Bikowsky, an alleged CIA employee who has been accused in multiple news outlets, including The Intercept, of being a human rights abuser. While attending the HOPE: Hackers on Planet Earth conference in 2014, I first saw Nowosielski detail that story as a featured speaker, and watched him tell it again the following year as a guest on the Abby Martin RT news show Breaking the Set and again later in 2015 on a panel at Left Forum. Links available for all of this. Just did a Google search and see he has also published stories for Salon and Truth-out and been mentioned in the Daily Beast, Gawker and the Intercept. Seems to me Nowosielski meets the "notability" criteria. —100.33.126.20 (talk) 20:34, 17 November 2017 (UTC)

no Declined. There is no benefit to the Wikipedia project in restoring a highly promotional piece that misuses Wikipedia as a free web host. Nothing prevents you from starting the page over.
If you intend to write an article about yourself, go to the [Wikipedia:Article wizard]] and do it there, submitting your article for review via Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Note that autobiographies are strongly discouraged, however. Generally one doesn't write about oneself on Wikipedia. ~Anachronist (talk) 01:15, 19 November 2017 (UTC)

Cognifit

This page objectively described the history and gave relevant information about one of the oldest and pioneer brain fitness companies in the world. The page has suddenly been deleted after many years online without changes claiming G8: Page dependent on a deleted or nonexistent page: more at User:Jeremy112233 but the user referred for the deletion Jeremy112233 apparenly was blocked (This account has been blocked indefinitely because CheckUser evidence confirms that the operator has abusively used multiple accounts) so it an obvios act of vandalism. Please reactivate the page. If you really see any editorial issue created by other users, please let us know to update the content in accordance with your policy. —Emenar (talk) 17:07, 17 November 2017 (UTC)

Note: This page was deleted under speedy deletion criterion G11, indicating an page that was irredeemably promotional or blatant advertising. Note that G11 deletions are more an issue with the tone of the page as opposed to its sources or formatting. As articles deleted under G11 need to be rewritten from scratch, they will not be undeleted as-is here; try contacting the deleting administrator (Athaenara (talk · contribs)). Alternatively, you may request the page be restored as a draft or to have the contents of its last known revision emailed to you provided you have email enabled in your account's preferences. I should note that Jeremy112233 is one of a group of editors associated with a paid editing sockfarm, and I will be taking this one to the checkusers myself. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 17:39, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
There was no vandalism. The page was deleted because it was created by an undisclosed paid editor, a sockpuppet of a banned user, in violation of the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. You may ask the deleting administrator to restore it to draft space for improvement, although before you do anything, things will go better if you are transparent about your own association wigh Cognifit. ~Anachronist (talk) 22:17, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
I posted elsewhere* about the email sent to me by a guy who identified himself as the Cognifit CEO. – Athaenara 00:26, 19 November 2017 (UTC)
Thanks. That also confirms Emenar's association with the company. It is clear that the company paid someone to write an article, without knowing that they were being cheated by a banned user selling paid editing services. This is no longer our problem now that the article has been correctly deleted. If they want to write an article about themselves, they can do it through proper channels, via fully-disclosed paid editing accounts that submit articles for review via Wikipedia:Articles for creation. ~Anachronist (talk) 01:22, 19 November 2017 (UTC)
