[edit]Types of online communities
[edit]I read a pop-culture book some years ago which presented a model for describing online communities. I writing to ask help seeking that book or model because I thought a wiki person might know. What I remember is that it presented a list of dichotomies: Online communities are:
- moderated or unmoderated
- identify participants or allow anonymity
- open to public or closed
The book went on with other characteristics. If I cannot find the book, I would be happy to find any model which people could apply to describe and compare online communities. I checked these wiki articles and was not finding what I know I had seen somewhere before. Obviously if I had edited the wiki article when I had the interesting information I would not have this problem now.
Is this familiar to anyone, or does anyone have ideas of where else I could ask? Thanks. Bluerasberry (talk) 19:42, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
