When you say "if i take sat", do you mean the SAT? Dismas|(talk) 13:09, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you are looking to transfer to a school in another country, you need to contact that school's "admissions office" directly. They, and not anyone here, will be able to answer your questions. Each school has different procedures and different requirements, so you should contact them directly and ask them personally. If you go to a school's website and look for a telephone number for the "admissions office" or a similar title, that will help you find the information you seek. --Jayron32 14:42, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant

[edit]

Where in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant flotilla was the Queen (the Spirit of Chartwell)? -- SGBailey (talk) 13:45, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As can be seen at about 00.42-00.47 in the BBC's timelapse, quite close to the beginning. 131.111.255.9 (talk) 15:57, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The boat carrying the queen was near the front after the "human powered" craft (rowboats, canoes, etc.) After the queen's boat group came the "Dunkirk boats" and then various other groups. Roger (talk) 17:34, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Pity Elizabeth wasn't on the Gloriana, the new royal rowing barge. BrainyBabe (talk) 18:22, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Her rowing skills aren't quite what they used to be. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots23:41, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Getting the message out

[edit]

A friend and I are trying to get a small business started (selling geeky desk gadgets and wooden toys online) - we thought to start with a Kickstarter project to get the ball rolling - but seems that it's hard to get enough "eyes" on the project to get the required momentum. Kickstarter recommend getting everyone on your facebook/twitter feed to pass out the message - but both of us have been keeping our friends' lists short to avoid getting inundated with junk posts - so this isn't effective. Short of outright spamming - or costly advertising campaigns, what are some good ways to get the word out online? PS. I'm deliberately not posting a link to the site here because I genuinely would like some suggestions and I don't wish to be spammy here. But if you insist, you can probably track down a link from my user page. SteveBaker (talk) 20:53, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reddit is okay with it as long as you're honest and open about it, and don't downright push it. Try /r/geek. Showcase as much of the stuff you have as possible, and hopefully it is original and compelling enough. — Kieff | Talk 21:28, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Try emailing any blog/news source that's in a relevant field. They'll get loads of similar messages every day, so don't worry too much about spamming, worry about not being noticed. There's a lot of blogs and other websites in the world that are desperate for content. --Colapeninsula (talk) 08:42, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Local newspapers have lots of space to fill and precious little news to fill it with. Think of a newsy angle on your business (eg 'it's started' and ring them up. You don't need any PR experience, just a pleasant manner and the empathy to think about your business from the journo's point of view. --Dweller (talk) 11:13, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
