Type of pants

[edit]

What exactly do you call the pants that Kate and her backup dancers are wearing in this video? I notice that they were extremely common in the late 70s and early 80s, but I've no idea what they're called or what material they're made of that gives them their shiny appearance. 70.52.79.173 (talk) 09:17, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think they're called "stretch pants" and a Google image search does all but confirm that. This page agrees with me and those are similar to the pants worn in the video. Dismas|(talk) 09:46, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Found the exact ones I was looking for, they're called disco pants! But thanks for your help, I wouldn't have gotten there without googling "stretch pants"! 70.52.79.173 (talk) 13:03, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome! I'm about 5-10 years too young to know too much about disco from personal experience. I'll just mark this resolved. Dismas|(talk) 23:10, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Resolved
[edit]

Could someone please visit Talk:March_2012_Gaza–Israel_clashes#retaliated_by_launching_vs_step-up_lunching_rocket_.28phrase.29 and help if removal of a fact (using diffrent phrase) is for the benifit of the articale ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.218.101.250 (talk) 10:13, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This isn't the place for debating the content of articles: this page is for asking general knowledge questions. If you need help with Wikipedia ask on the Help Desk, or for general discussion try Village Pump. --Colapeninsula (talk) 10:49, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.218.101.250 (talk) 10:58, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You should receive similar advice on the help desk, but you may want to see WP:Dispute resolution if you need help resolving an existing dispute on an article talk page (although you should generally try to discuss it on the talk page before asking for help). Next MV Agusta F4

[edit]

Anyone know when MV Agusta will be releasing their next F4 to replace their current best the F4 RR. I can't find any mention of it on the web but maybe someone could give me a rough idea based on their past release cycle --212.120.237.49 (talk) 18:26, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deactivating Facebook

[edit]

If I deactivate my Facebook account, my status updates, comments, tags and everything else will disappear. But will they reappear when I reactivate it? Will my photos still be there, and the tags that other people tagged me in? What about the posts and notes I've written? 223.190.199.224 (talk) 19:37, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Per Facebook's help pages, deactivation does not actually delete anything, and all content is restored when you reactivate. Per third-party sources, even "deletion" doesn't actually delete things from Facebook. — Lomn 21:11, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why did they call the Xbox 360 the Xbox 360?

[edit]

Just as above, how did they come up with the name? Velociraptor888 19:47, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because when you see it, you turn 360 degrees and walk away. 188.117.11.111 (talk) 05:11, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'd only turn 180 degrees if I wanted to do that... Matt Deres (talk) 13:11, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In the early days of mainframe computers, when IBM was king, its big selling range for maybe a decade was known as the 360 series. They cost $millions. The next series was called 370, but wasn't markedly different. I'm not aware that a 350 series ever existed. Someone suggested to me at the time that 360 was a number chosen by the marketeers to sound "complete" because there's 360 degrees in a perfect circle. (Well, any circle really, but they liked to include that word "perfect".) Microsoft has followed many of IBM's strategies. HiLo48 (talk) 22:04, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Automotive Wiring Diagrams

[edit]

Where can I get a wiring diagram, specifically for the horn system of a 1999 Hyundai Accent? Preferably online for free, but if its under $5 I would be interested. - ʄɭoʏɗiaɲ τ ¢ 20:46, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That is usually in the Haynes Manual; for a car of such age you can probably pick up a used copy for a small amount. -- Finlay McWalterTalk 21:21, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
