[edit]Card Model : Hipped roof
[edit]Hi, does someone have a "free" resource that shows how to draw the card sections required to make a hipped roof, for a given base, a given "hip angle" or a given height of eaves?
As I understand it, it's essentialy the construction of irregular pyramid on a rectangular base.
I have a number of related questions, and it would be appreciated if the answers were collated into a relevant section on Wikibooks.
The reason I am asking is that i was wanting to try and make som vector artwork to support attempts to get a card modelling project started at Commons. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 15:19, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
- Our article is a t Hip roof. I think Google sketchup will help you lay out the shapes, then make measurements. Here's [1] a youtube video explaining how, googling /sketchup hip roof/ will find more related videos and tutorials. SemanticMantis (talk) 19:18, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
- I am sure blender can do it as well, it was the geometric construction of them (i,e of an iregular pyramid) I was wanting so I didn't have to rely on 3d tools :) ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 20:12, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
