closed immersion of smooth varieties
[edit]If X, Y are smooth varieties and f: X -> Y is a closed immersion, is f(X) smooth? In Liu, it is proved that it is a regular immersion, so the answer seems to be "no", but what is a counterexample? Ringspectrum (talk) 17:12, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
