[edit]Australian slang
[edit]What does "Are your ears painted on" mean? Source Rizosome (talk) 06:04, 26 June 2021 (UTC)
- My understanding is that it implies that the subject's ears are not real, and means "You appear to have not heard what I just said". HiLo48 (talk) 06:26, 26 June 2021 (UTC)
- "Are your ears painted on? Meaning: Somebody who does not listen". [1] Alansplodge (talk) 17:33, 26 June 2021 (UTC)
- In other words, "are your ears just there for looks or do they actually function?" --Khajidha (talk) 14:53, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- Kind of a cousin to "Use your head for something besides a hat-rack!" ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 19:44, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- A MAGA hat-rack. Clarityfiend (talk) 22:04, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
