[edit]Good font for Bulgarian?
[edit]Hi. I'm trying to typeset Bulgarian, and the contemporary style differs from Serbian. E.g. д т п и look like upright cursive/italic (like Latin ɡ m n u). Does anyone know of a decent-looking serif font (s.t. like Arno Pro or Gentium) that is either designed for Bulgarian, or displays properly if the language is set to Bulgarian?
Thanks — kwami (talk) 01:46, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
- Probably some of the fonts listed here or here will do. --Theurgist (talk) 02:56, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks! They had a couple nice free ones I could download elsewhere. — kwami (talk) 09:58, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
- Kwamikagami, fascinating question. I know the current version of Minion has some of them (note that the website seems to have broken since publication so it's not actually loading the Minion font correctly to display). I can't help you much as Cyrillic isn't something I know much about, but I remember finding this article fascinating if you didn't know the backstory of "Bulgarian Cyrillic" (briefly, apparently lots of Bulgarian typography experts studying in East Germany, getting used to the rhythms of the Latin alphabet and trying to patch it back into Cyrillic). Russia has a large font design community and it's possible someone there has better answers if you can can find the right person to approach; my knowledge is limited to those who publish in the English and German languages. ParaType is the largest Russian font design company and contacting them could be a good place to start. Blythwood (talk) 23:48, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. That's much more informative than the descriptions I'd found. — kwami (talk) 01:52, 3 September 2021 (UTC)

Moronic Moped Marathon
[edit]This article is amusing, but I can't really figure out what innuendo is involved in the placename "Bell End"... AnonMoos (talk) 21:44, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
- Presumably this. Deor (talk) 22:06, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
- Oh, I never heard that term before. Mark this resolved... AnonMoos (talk) 22:13, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
