Identifying an OLD work

[edit]

File:Buttevant friary Smith 1750.jpg is Attributed to Smith's History of Cork c. 1750...

Is there a fuller title for this work, or better scans to check if the image was attributed to a different artist? ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 18:53, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Smith's History of Cork is The Antient and Present State of the County and City of Cork by Charles Smith, the Irish topographer. DuncanHill (talk) 19:28, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, that picture is not the picture in the edition of Smith that's available on Google Books. DuncanHill (talk) 19:34, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Google Books has 12 entries for editions of the book (or parts of it; there are multiple volumes), two of which they allow the user to view: 1701 and 1815. But although the 1815 one has a list of instructions to the bookbinder for where to insert the illustrations, they don't seem to actually be in the scanned copy! --76.69.47.228 (talk) 20:35, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
