June 10[edit]

To any WWII show / film buffs: Is there a British version of this scene?[edit]

This hapless Yankee soldier, while trying to run away, runs STRAIGHT INTO Jerry.

But have there been filmed scenes showing a Tommy soldier doing the same thing? If not, how about a Free French soldier?

I also wonder how often Tommy and the Free French would get lost from their units like poor Pvt. Despin here did. This didn't happen most often with the Yanks, right? --70.179.161.230 (talk) 04:31, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we should be too hard on the Americans. I'm not familiar with the film that this clip comes from, but it looks like the type of combat that occurred in the Battle of the Bulge, which was fought in heavily wooded country in persistent fog. The battle lines were very fluid and there was frequent confusion on both sides. The well known term "The fog of war", must have affected every army at some stage. I imagine that there were many similar events during the Japanese invasion of Malaya or the Japanese conquest of Burma in early 1942. Not surprisingly, the British haven't made many films about these events, since they were an unmitigated disaster, exasperated exacerbated (!) by poor planning, training and lack of general preparation. However, I believe that it forms part of the narrative of A Town Like Alice (1956 film). The end of the Battle of France caused the fragmentation of many British units, and the Royal Navy was still picking up stragglers from the south of France in August 1940, three months after the Dunkirk evacuation. My Little Pony IDW Comic Question[edit]

We don't answer requests for opinions, predictions or debate
The following discussion has been closed. Please do not modify it.

Will the 2ND Story Arc of the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic end with a happy ending? Will it will end with the evil Nightmare Forces of the moon getting defeated and Nightmare Rarity turning back into Rarity then having the Ponies and Spike go back home? That is a happy ending.184.20.209.241 (talk) 11:53, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As much as we'd like to, I'm pretty sure nobody here can predict the future. You might be able to get an answer if you ask the comic's writers/publishers directly but even then it's unlikely they'd give away spoilers before the relevant comics are released. It will end with a happy ending right?184.20.209.241 (talk) 13:20, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No a troll comes along and eats them all. (You've been told before that this is not a My Little Pony forum. Why don't you take the advice we give you?) 196.214.78.114 (talk) 13:32, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
